Neighbourhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Not the best place in the world like they claim
This is me falling prey to social media hype. While working on our Amsterdam itinerary, this place popped up in almost every blog/account about the city. This is a must, I thought! It would be a perfect break for our kids to enjoy these cute waffles after dragging with parents all over the city. Well….don’t be me and don’t go to this place. There is a line to get in, although it moved quite fast, I have to admit. Price: we got 2 waffles for our kids and paid €34! I almost chocked! I didn’t check the prices before, thinking oh well, €7-8 per piece…you know…€17 per one waffle, one sickeningly sweet waffle. So sweet my kids couldn’t even finish them (there is a layer of caramel inside). And they’ll sell their souls for sweets 😂😂 The toppings fall off the waffles, so you lose half of them while you eat. Customer service: it felt very rushed, like, get your waffle and get out. While we were waiting for our waffles, a staff member kicked out 2 girls from the shop, because they got their waffles and sat down on the window sill to enjoy them. I get it, the place is very small, but there is always a different tone to communicate with the customers. So, find another place and enjoy Dutch stroopwafels somewhere else. Just down the street from this shop, there is another one with tables inside and it’s much bigger. This is a location in Kalverstraat shopping street, across from H&am

    Tourist Rip-off
Though the Stroopwafel was tasty, it was WAY overpriced, and I would not buy another one here. Had I known exactly how much we would be paying in relation to what we received, I would not have done this. Please take your time to look around and find a different Stroopwafel stand that makes them fresh right in front of you.

    Not worth the hype
Tasted very nice but incredibly expensive. Not worth the money or wait. In particular the staff let it down, lack lustre and seemingly uncaring about people’s waits or actually making the waffles - literally stood at the back staring at all the orders, not doing any whilst waiting for some diam bars even though some orders didn’t require Diams

Over priced and tasted like cardboard
It was a wet Sunday and we didn't want to walk further so we decided to grab on at the Kalverstraat store. We live in Amsterdam and a friend was visiting. Possibly the worst price quality ratio I have ever experienced. The Stroopwafels were very thin and dry, not freshly baked but "freshly reheated". Cardboard taste and the worst of all €10 for a small (approx. 8 cm in diameter) and €13 for a medium (approx. 12 cm in diameter).

    Good waffles, poor customer experience
The staff are incredibly rude. One was talking whilst at least 25 orders were waiting, the other was on her phone. It ruined it for me as I saw the place on Tik Tok, the waffles and shops are lovely but staff let it down massively.

    OMG Delicious, but messy
Got to be sure and have a Stroopwafel when you visit Amsterdam. Van Wonderen Stroopwafels was highly recommended. They were delicious. So many different ones to try, The line inside moved quickly. No place to sit and enjoy, but in reality that is part of the experience. A little pricy, so you won't likely buy a dozen, but his is a must stop destination. Location of this shop was also ideal location on a primary shopping street.

    Not Great
While the stroopwafels look amazing, it certainly didn't taste amazing. The stroopwafels come in two sizes and the large that you see most people get is too big. I couldn't finish it on my own. It'd be better to share. It also was overly sweet. The part without the extra topping tasted better. Overall, the stroopwafels you can get in the US at the grocery store or World Market taste better than these. The queue outside was pretty organized and moved quickly, but it's a bit chaotic inside as the store is quite small inside. Half of the store is still in line waiting to order and half are crowded on the other side of the store waiting for their food. Staff is a bit chaotic as well. They seemed to be having issues with the card reader with multiple people (also an important note that they don't accept Visa cards). We paid in cash and the cashier forgot to give us change back (we had to ask her).

    Not so sweet Communication
I ordered 3 seasonal tins for shipping but unfortunately have had no updates or info regarding my order since. I contacted the company asking for an update on shipping of my order but have had no response from the company as yet. I would advise anyone thinking of ordering for overseas delivery to be cautious, and I will update here of any progress. I don't think their customer service is up to scratch as they don't reply to customers or appear to update order status so the customer has no idea if or when their orders are shipped or to be delivered which is problematic when buying from another country and considering the cost of shipping is really poor service. Watch for updates/resolution.

    Tourist Trap… Would not recommend!
A total tourist trap because of the pretty exterior of the shop. We queued about 40 minutes to even get served, the staff were unprofessional and lacking any sort of customer service skills. There were no prices visible, so we just ordered 2 stroopwafels, and were very shocked to find the total had cost around €25. The stroopwafel was very average, it was too thin and was like eating a crisp - however the chocolate and hazelnuts were good. Wouldn’t recommend, plenty of other places where you can get a much better stroopwafel for a fraction of the price.

Not worth the wait or the money
First of all it was absolutely packed in there and it took us 45 minutes to get 2 stroopwafels.. They were yummy but they were insanely expensive and at the end of the day they were simply just stroopwafels. They tasted identical to shop bought ones and personally don’t think they were worth the wait or the price.

Terribly expensive, but delicious. Friendly service and tasty options. Still can’t believe the prices they charge! $14 Euro for a large stroopwaffel, but we did enjoy them.

ZERO points. I simply cannot believe that with all the wronged customers, me and others reporting it to Dutch consumer affairs (who at least bothered tp respond saying they can't go after these small vendors, read between the lines), they are still allowed to advertise on Insta & other mediums to trap even more customers. Order online not fulfilled and not refunded. I was willing to line up for 45min to be told by miserable looking workers standing on dirty floor they cannot fulfill online orders. So no solution to €80 problem there either. Thieves that are continuing to steal. Do yourself a favour go few doors down tp any bakery selling waffles (I found cute and cosy one opposite Albert Hejn in Miseumplein, cross the road to Concertgebouw side), go there for NL gifts now. You can even have a choice of tin you pick.

I read about this place on my sites and in many postings. It made it to my "must do" list for Amsterdam. I waited on line and when I got to the front of the line, I realized there were several flavor and size options. I ordered two different flavors, and both were the small size. It was very expensive, and they were only OK. For me, all of the stuff they put on the top made them overly sweet. When I got outside, I found a place to stop and took a bite of the first one and it was warm which was a treat, but it was overly sweet. I dumped it in the trash and tried the second one, the same thing happened. To be fair, in the store and some of the reviews commented on how great they were because of how sweet they were but that is not me. I really like when there is nothing on top of them. Maybe I should have ordered them without anything on it. I had other Stroopwafels in Amsterdam that were just as good (and less expensive)

Stroopwafels were good,Place is very busy and staff due to crowd were irritated and rude.one of the guy in front of queue ordered way before and his ordered didnt arrive wven after mine and when he complained about it was rudely asked to get his money back and leave. We tried normal strrop wafel,Caramel and marshmallow one,the regular were very thin and crisy and the best one.Other were okish. Its too pricey for the quality. You can buy a box full of stroopwafel for same price at other stores.Small size is sufficient quantity

After seeing the hype about this place online we were really excited to pay a visit. A huge disappointment. We queued for almost an hour and the shop is extremely cramps and overcrowded inside. You can hardly move for people. The staff were unfriendly and looked miserable. Once they shouted out our ticket number I had to squeeze passed other tourists. Once I got went to the til I couldn’t find our order. I realised a woman had her umbrella resting over our food. I had to move it then squeeze my way out of the shop. It was really unpleasant. The actual stroopwafel was not worth the wait at all. It was very sickly, dry, and extremely expensive. Anyone thinking about visiting, please read reviews, as like others have said, it really is a tourist trap.

We had to come to this place when visiting Amsterdam. Tiny shop but beautiful decorated. We had a mini and medium waffle and was surprised at how expensive they were. Also they only take card which we found in a lot of busy places. Would of liked a few more topping options but they were very delicious. The chocolate used is a darker chocolate so quite bitter

My partner said “I’ll get this” as I’ve taken her away for her birthday. You know the vibe when you buy dinner at £50 and she says I’ll buy you an ice cream for £2, as a treat… same thing here.

Anyway, queues were long, as expected. Extremely disorganised, we were number 82 and I think the orders went up to about 89 before we questioned where ours was.

Turns out, one of the staff members served her fella/boyfriend/friend, forgot to do ours, fobbed it off to another member of staff who decided to do one, then crack on with other people’s.

Staff - all female and all with a face suitable for radio, couldn’t knock up a smile between them all, this is coming from a guy who’s very much a half empty chap.

€30 for two large stroop waffles with average service but the doorman with the hats looked cool.

Not worth the agg if I’m honest but they were nice.

VERY EXPENSIVE AND OVER-HYPED! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Visited the store on a recommendation and rather wished we hadn't. £35/€41 (yes, you've read that correctly, it's not a mis-type) for 3 Stroopwaffels (one large plain and two small with toppings) which aren't any better than ones you can buy anywhere else at a fraction of the price and without having to wait 20+ minutes to get them.

A TOURIST TRAP BEST AVOIDED.

Up there with one of the most over hyped places to visit. It’s a tourist trap. €13 for a medium bit of stale waffle covered in awful tasting chocolate and fake aldi style toppings.
The very fact you have to queue for this rubbish is beyond me.
Staff have no interest in helping you or any speed to their service. Everyone cramped in the shop for 20+ minutes waiting for their number to be called out. Honestly it was one of the worst experiences ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Do not waste your time! Long q’s, inexperienced young staff, people demanding their money back as it’s so slow, and frankly cheap products that aren’t even that tasty - I threw my Kit Kat one in the trash. And at €13 a pop it’s a complete rip off honestly. Nothing good to say about these unfortunately.
