Elian was amazing and I learned sooo much about cooking in one class. She not only provides a unique cooking class with amazing recipes, but also brings her warm personality full of life stories that make you feel at home. We made baked feta, crab with garlic jalapeño butter sauce, and prawns with tomato sauce over creamy polenta. Everything was incredible and so much fun to cook! Looking forward to coming back and doing this again!

My daughter and I took this class with Chef Eliane while in Amsterdam a few days ago and it was fantastic- definitely one of the highlights of our trip. It ended up being just the two of us, but I imagine Chef Eliane can make any size group feel special. Eliane is warm, outgoing, and easy to talk to. We loved our meal and learned lots of tricks and trivia along the way. I meant to send a note about what kind of foods we like, but forgot and ended up making (amoung other things) fish, a food my daughter has always disliked and avoided eating. Well... she ate it and ended up taking 3rds it was so good!

Chef Elaine was great company and the Cheese and Wine selections were divine. Non Commercial cheeses and wines were provided and as we tried the different selections, she guided us through the history of each.
We very much enjoyed the session, even though we only came across it by pure chance. Highly recommended.

Today was a great day from the instructor, Chef Elaine to the food, and the amazing people that I have spent this day with. I have learned a lot from Chef Elaine such as, the importance of following techniques. I made my first focaccia today, which is something that I have always wanted but because I didn’t follow the instructions of our lovely Chef, I actually made a flat bread foccacia. Sometimes, when in the kitchen it is super important to follow techniques then doing whatever we want. I have learned a lot today and I will take that with me into my cookings.
Definitely, this won’t be my last class!
I hope to be joining your classes again very soon Chef Elaine. Until then, I hope that whoever takes your class enjoy it as much as I did or even more. I enjoyed your company, the cooking process, the company of the other participants, specially the shared meal at the end, the skills that I’ve learned, and the lovely talks.

I attended two classes at Born to Taste - a French and a Mediterranean course. Both were lively, fun and very active sessions. The group in both cases was small but very sociable. The focus is of course on the food and cookery but everybody was chatting and getting to know each other throughout, with lots of wine and tasting in between. The food we finally cooked was very good and the day ended with a delicious lunch with the rest of the class. I came away having learnt some great techniques, tricks, processes and ideas and a number of new recipes.

We had a lovely evening tasting Dutch cheese and wine. The experience felt very authentic - it took place in Eliane's apartment - and we learnt a lot about the process and origin of both the wines and the cheeses. Eliane is very knowledgeable about the culinary world and answered all our questions. She sources all of the cheeses and wines from small and local farms, and the quality of the products we tasted was exceptional! The setting, intimate and friendly, also felt very professional. Eliane was a welcoming host and we enjoyed hearing about her previous experiences as a Chef in France. I would highly recommend this experience to any cheese lover who also wants to learn more about The Netherlands.

We just returned to the US from our trip to Amsterdam and river cruise on the Rhine. Of all the great experiences we had we rank among the highest our cooking class with Chef Eliane. Chef Eliane, as a Michelin rated chef and her numerous years of experience clearly demonstrated the depth of her knowledge/experience as she guided us through an unbelievable cooking experience. She answered all our questions, provided a foundation for understanding the process of cooking and, most surprisingly did so with patience and coaching. She was so respectful, she invited discussion from us (and I am truly an amateur), yet never talked down to me. She is a professional of the highest level. Additionally, the class was fun, as we laughed and joked throughout. The atmosphere was relaxed and elegant. I am so pleased with her teaching abilities and skill that I’ve invited her to teach a class in my home the next time she is in the US. I will have no trouble filing my kitchen as my friends are clamoring for an experience with Chef Eliane. Thank you again. (Tried to upload photos but it kept freezing up on me, so no pics)

My partner and I met Chef Eliane while she visited New Mexico a few months back, she and I talked about cooking and she informed me that she taught cooking classes in the Netherlands as well as private dining and if we were ever in Amsterdam to sign up.. We decided to take her up on her offer and booked our vacation to the Netherlands to include her cooking class.
Chef Eliane was such an amazing teacher! We we excited to have the opportunity to spend time in the kitchen with this world class chef and from the initial greeting to discussing the recipes…she was so pleasant and very informative. I have been cooking for many years and have taken classes in my home town but this was so amazing!! She explained the importance of using fresh ingredients and how the flavors are enhanced by the different spices. She also explained the importance of Mise en place (a French term for having everything in place; ingredients measured, peeled, sliced etc before you start cooking) as well as the necessity of a clean work space and safety. The other participant and I were told that we would be able to prepare the entire meal (with her guidance) and it turned out amazing!! I would be honored to take another class with her if given the chance!! Chef Eliane did not disappoint!!
