We were using the train trip from Amsterdam to Delft to see some other interesting places, one of them was Leiden. Great architecture and fun!

Great location! Surrounded by a lot of restaurants and nightclubs! We stayed odd Lange leiderstraat so we were right in the middle of things! Not to mention the trams go directly to and from this location!

Leiden Square is a great place for nightlife. Lots of good bars., local and tourist, and places to eat. Situated a short walk from the red light district. If you like going out at night, you must visit here, lively on a weekend

First stayed here over 30 years ago. The whole atmosphere has changed -- the once quiet square has been filled with tramlines -- and more being installed.

Loved walking up and down this area, checking out all the fun architecture and shops. There are several restaurants which have 'all you can eat' or good deals posted on their menus outside, so you can browse around and decide what 'food mood' you are in. This area also has one of my favorite coffeeshops, Rookies. Highly recommend! Friendly staff,... More

A must to see, full of tourists and locals. Great places to eat, large variety and the Square is also near other attractions.

The one shame about my recent trip to Amsterdam is that there are widespread tram line improvement works going on at present with many roads dug up..one of these is around Leidseplein and rather spoils its natural attractiveness somewhat. Will be ok when all the works have been completed.
