All was good, from the location to the arquitecture, the food, the music. If one goes to that área, should definitely try it, even if so just for a drink or coffee.

Away from most of the tourists you'll find Jordaan district. Here there are some fantastic local and independent cafes and boutique stores. Known mostly for the "nine streets"- definitely worth visiting when in A'dam!

We stayed in the Jordaan area for 7 days while visiting Amsterdam. While it's close to all the major sites, it has a very authentic Dutch neighborhood vibe. It has many cute cafes, stores, pubs, pizzerias, etc. The best part of staying here is that...More

I felt so comfortable roaming the streets of the Jordaan seeing the sights, smells and beauty of a real living neighborhood in Amsterdam. Great Place to people watch, have a coffee and the best-smoked salmon sandwich ever! I signed up for a "food tour": 9...More

Next to the old town is this beautiful part of Amsterdam. It's definitely worth walking through it. You can discover many diffrent spots. Sometimes you'll find lovely cafes and restaurants.

This is a very interesting place to be. Nice streets to spend the day, live music being played and cafes I could hang out the whole day here.

This is just a beautiful place to wander around, look at the old historic centre of Amsterdam and soak in the atmosphere. Very pittoresque.

The neighborhood of Amsterdam where probably all the canal, bridge and cycles photos of Amsterdam are shot, many restaurants and bars, great place to go for a stroll.

Great area. But so is the rest of Amsterdam. Very near the Anne Frank House. Walk it or take a canal boat.

We stayed in the Jordan on our trip during the fall and will probably stay there again the next time. It's right next to the central and more touristy parts of the city, but feels more like it's own neighborhood catering to locals.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

Sorry but I am not sure.. Maybe one of the romantic tours because there were smaller boats moored along the canals.

Yes it would! The neighborhood just next to Jordaan is called "the Nine Streets," and you can get a good idea of what's going on in the neighborhoods by taking a look at their webpages, which include a lot of articles... More
