Breathtaking experience both in the warm and cold seasons. We caught Amsterdam Light Festival this January, and went on a tour on the last day of the festival 1/20/19 which was a wonderful and informative guide tour that we booked with Kinboat.

I would recommend you do this as the very first thing in city since they give you tips on places that are nice to visit. Also a great way to see more of the city in a short period of time

We went with the Blue Boat company and were not disappointed. We booked our tickets online but tickets can be purchased at the kiosk close to Leidseplein. We did both the day and night cruises and both were lovely.

Great tour of the Festival of Lights 2018. There was an audio guide and heated inside though we spent the whole tour out the back of the canal boat for the best views/photos. Highly recommend.

De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag

many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic
thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in
search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly
half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners

We booked on the day but I did it through trip adviser- much cheaper. Ours left from just outside the Heineken experience. Lots of hotels also have a booking service. No need to book in advance.
