We went on this hour long tour and got to see a bunch of great views of the city through the canals. The stories they tell you and the history of this area is amazing. Worth the hour long time and I think it cost 10.50 euro per person, cheaper for kids.

As Amsterdam is a city of canals and cycles, the best way is to explore the city is either by boat or cycle. We choose the tour as it gives a good overview of the city as we were there on a day trip ( the hotel prices were pretty steep, staying on the city was not an option)

Worth doing while in Amsterdam. We were there in February and it was still possible to do canal cruises. The boats are covered and heated. Nice tour which makes basically a circle around the city in the canals. There is multi-lingual headset information on the site that the tour passes. About an hour tour. Worth doing.

Good way to really understand the canal system and lifestyle of Amsterdam. Relaxing and dry on a wet day! Approx £10 per adult for an hour.

We took this 70 minute tour to see some different parts of the city plus it seems somewhat different from the water. Our captain was wonderful and supplemented the audio guide with lots of great information. This was an easy tour-we purchased our tickets online so just showed up and began the tour.

We picked the 1hr cruise on the canal it was great. It s à nice and easy way to see the city if you don't have time to walk everywhere.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
