Excellent day tour which gave an incredible insight in the battle. Murk is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable who not only gave a great overview of the whole operation but added lots of small anecdotes which made it all come more alive. In that respect Murk is a bit the Antony Beevor of the tour guides! Highly recommended tour!

Murk is an incredibly knowledgable and engaging guide! He does a great job of explaining what and where happened in great detail. Murk made it very easy for myself and my wife to appreciate, and also understand what happened during Operation Market Garden for the U.S. Airborne troops. I would highly recommend this to everyone else!

This 3-day tour really made history come alive. Murk passionately guided our group of five showing great expertise. We had every opportunity to ask questions during the trip and found him to be very knowledgeable about the advertised visits and all the other items that we came across. Murk knows the area very well which explains why we covered many... More

Murk is very knowledgeable and takes his time, we spent hours wandering through the city and after this tour I see my city with different eyes. It was very enjoyable, and I recommend it too anyone who is interested in the history of Amsterdam.

Great tour by History Trips! Murk Dijkstra does an excellent job. He captures the Golden Age of Amsterdam while you walk the same streets of history. Beginning at former times, the tour shares how the Nederland’s and this part of Europe evolved from the Romans to today. And, this includes specifics about Amsterdam growing to a great city for commerce... More

I have a great interest in the Western Europen Theatre of WWII especially Normandy but I have always been fascinated by Operation Market Garden so when we paid a 9-day visit to Utrecht we wanted to include a visit to Oosterbeek and Arnhem for at least a couple of days. I have read books and watched videos on the subject... More

Murk was an extremely knowledgeable guide. He certainly brought the key Canadian battles to life for us. This tour is not currently advertised on his website but is available and custom-designed for those interested in the Canadian Army's liberation of Holland. My wife and I were treated to an unforgettable one day tour in September travelling to the Canadian War... More

We booked the American tour of the Market Garden Campaign for when our son, a huge WWII buff, was visiting from the states. Murk picked us up at our apartment and drove us down to visit many sites. He very clearly explained the strategies and the movements of the troops. We visited monuments and memorials to the soldiers and even... More

we booked Murk Dijkstra from 9am until he left us at 6pm. This was my fourth visit to Arnhem for Market garden, with a further three of our party , their 3rd visit and tow first timers. I explain this by way of outlining this excellent day trip which catered for all levels of knowledge. I have read sooo many... More

We took the Market Garden tour of Arnhem. Murk was a friendly, knowledgeable, well-organized and capable guide. I had read multiple accounts of the Market Garden operation, but seeing the terrain made it much easier to understand why things went the way they did. Murk made the experiences of those involved in the battle come alive. He had clearly spent... More
