There were only the 2 of us and at the cost of 7.5 euro each it was the best value you can get, You can choose your own tour from many and varied, and whether you like a small group or individual... With an eight hour layover in Amsterdam we were looking for a quick way to see and learn about the city and were not disappointed. It ended up being a private tour as there was only one other couple and they booked a separate German tour. For 7.5 euros/pp the tour is an amazing value. We booked in advance through... More

BE SURE AND MAKE A RESERVATION. I did not, and just showed up and they had no English tour scheduled. I was very fortunate that one of the guides, RIA, who was not scheduled to do a tour, offered to take me around for an hour. She actually spent 2 hours with me, and we saw so much and she... More

We chose an English-language tour of Old Amsterdam, requesting extra historical information where possible, and our experience of walking through the old streets with Frank was the highlight of our all-round excellent trip. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city and its development, as well as major social changes and upheavals. We learnt a lot about the... More

We took two tours with local guides in late May 2014. We took the Central canal tour first and then the Jordan tour. All the tours leave from the central courtyard of the Amsterdam museum and things are well organised and signed. What these tours give you complements but doesn't relace the good general biking and walking tours. The other... More

Guide Peter provided an excellent and very enjoyable tour around the old inner city, including history, architectural details, explanation of Dutch street names and information about life in Amsterdam today. With small groups, tours can be and are tailored to particular interests. Discovering we had a mutual appreciation for craft beer, we explored Amsterdam through a few of its local... More

I went on a guided tour with a wonderful lady called Eegje Boerema. She was friendly and full of interesting facts. She was able to show me hidden courtyards and took me inside this amazing hotel which had reclaimed many houses to form one large hotel. I learnt about some of the heritage listed homes and the history of the... More

Going through Amsterdam with an experienced guide that knows the city very well was one of my best and interesting things I did while visiting Amsterdam. It is cheap and can really be recommended if you want to see the city with different eyes. The guide was really committed and enthusiastic and spoke quite well English.

We had a wonderful, informative walking tour with this company. We saw many interesting places that we would have otherwise missed. There were only two of us on the tour, so the guide asked us what we were interested in. My husband showed an interest in the new subway being built so our guide took us down onto the construction... Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
