If you want to watch nature's beauty at its best this is the place for you. It has wonderful protected forest, jogging and cycling tracks with a canal used for international rowing events. It also has a small restaurant. It is little costly. However it is nothing in turn you are receiving the nature at its best. Hardly 8 km... More

Even in February it was fun if cold to cycle here-you can get to it along canals and there is an eccentric little café with interesting memorabilia and plenty of doggie visitors-they do great eggs on toast, coffee etc

I went with my Dutch friends for a bike ride to this ' forrest' and had a wonderful day! Just after WW2 the Amsterdam people were allowed to grow their own vegetables here and so it became a man-made forrest, just outside the edge of the South of Amsterdam. We passed the Olympic Stadium on our way up there as... More

This forest is such a nice place to visit. It's got loads to do with lakes for boating, visiting goat farms for kids or going to have super pancakes. We went with the dogs and kids for a day out and it was wonderful. There are loads of walking paths and it's not crowded overall. Only at the restaurants and... More

I normally stay at a hotel near the the airport on the East side. Since I love going into the city a short cut is through the Bos which is really an amazing place. It can be peace and quiet or there can be events going on, camping, music fests, also canoeing and biking. It's a great forest.

The Amsterdamse Bos is an artificial forest, created in the years of 1928 through 1934. The two reasons to create the forest were the lack of greenery close by Amsterdam and the creation of jobs for the unemployed (then not working meant no payment). Nowadays, it is a wonderful, quiet place to walk, row, run, stroll, picnic, or visit the... More

Great park for locals but if you visit Amsterdam then you can skip it. It is not easy to come to the park with public transportation and it is not more than park. Though if you love to run/jog there is a good running circuit. Let childeren play at goat farm and run for a half marathon circuit.

The Amsterdam forest is a great place for recreational activities. You could bike, run or walk around. But also activities like horse riding and canoeing are possible in some parts of the forest. The south part of the forest connects to the city Amstelveen and the north part of the forest connects to Amsterdam. The park offers well maintained scenic... More
