Neighbourhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Best zoo I have ever been to. There was so much to see and photographers were walking around the place available to capture some memories for you. The food was also great. Despite the bad weather it was a great experience.

The best zoo that I've ever been to.
Alot of animals to see
Any animals you can think of, are at the zoo
Worth the money!
Quite busy today but enough room to see the animals and walk around.
Definitely recommend the gorilla, elephants, zebra and lions!
Cheap lunch in the restaurant.
£15.05 Meat Gyros, Chips and Drink Large
Quick service
Enough seating areas

The Artis Zoo got a lot of animals to visit in a really great enviorment located directly in the center of Amsterdam. Prices are reasonable and you are able to easily spend a few hours in the zoo

Outstanding experience and great value. Much more to see and experience than we expected. Lots of species and opportunities to close to the animals. Highly recommended.

The zoo is one of the most well-kept zoos we've ever been to. Had an impressive array of animals for a small zoo. The sea lions were a highlight, along with the butterfly hall!
Only downside was the extortionate car parking prices.

Much bigger than expected for a city zoo. Lots of species in all corners of the property. The map could be confusing at times and I may have missed some things because of it. A lot of birds which I love and lots of wild ones too. Herons nesting in the trees all around the park. 2:45 and everyone had just been fed so all species up and about, some still eating like the cute baby elephant. I recommend the stop on your journey

Love it! My kids loved it and for me it's one of the best zoo I've ever been. I would recommend going left when you arrive. That way your kids are not tired or at sleep for the lions, elephants and giraffes.

It is classic ZOO with lions, jaguar, wolves, elephants. It is nice but it is also nothing special. Highlight is jaguar.

saddest zoo in the world - they should be reported for animal cruelty
there is not enough room for each animal to be happy, there were multiple areas that were delipidated and run down, overgrown and not cared for
really bad atmosphere and expensive for what it is, doesn't take long to see everything and everything you see you feel sorry for as the animals all looked miserable

I went there after a looo g time and sadly it was better in my memory. We biught tickets last week and went today.
After deciding a route we go to the aquarium and discover that is is closed. We were not made aware of that . It does not say so when you but the tickets or on the homepage. Quite disappointed in that and the animals were transferred somewhere else because you could not see them anywhere.
The rest if the park was done in less than 2 hours. Lots of empty enclosures because they are doing all kinds of renovations and stuff.
Not worth the money i payed. If i knew that the aquarium was closed i would not have gone.

You can buy tickets at the entrance. You can spend as much time as you want here, but go! I love this zoo! Plan for at least 2 hours.

Si confermo gli animali sono tutti visibili. E lo consiglio per famiglie passare un intera giornata perché c’è molto da visitare!! Zoo molto bene organizzato. Buona visita!!
I am visiting Amsterdam in December, is the zoo open during this time? I’m wondering whether it will be too cold to go to a zoo in December. Do tickets need to be booked in advance?

The website states no smoking throughout the zoo, do they have specific smoking areas within the park?

Hi, you can go back out through the barriers & smoke outside the front gate. You will get a stamp to come back in again then😊

Saludos.
