Not so much of a deal is made about this place unlike some of the more famous museums not so far away. 25 min tram ride from Museumplein, one of the best displays of art I have ever seen. Cried when i saw the big...More

You can get a fair idea of the contents of this museum from the following website: http://www.cobra-museum.nl/en/recent.html The museum building itself is lovely, the staff are friendly, and there appear to be regular exhibitions. But as for the art itself, I think the most diplomatic...More

Visited this small but interesting museum during the Restless Matter exhibit. I found the talking stone exhibit, The Egg or the Hen by Egill Saebjornson very interesting. It was actually a series of stones with animated video faces and recordings. Others were too modern for...More

As a modern art lover, I really enjoyed this museum. I think its limited on information about the pieces around the museum but if you're not interested in the background of the art and just taking in the art, then you'll likely enjoy Cobra. The...More

I accompanied an artist friend to this museum. It’s a bit of a ways from Amsterdam so you have to be sure you want to take an afternoon to see a collection of modern art from the mid-1940’s and beyond, primarily by the Cobra artists.

Some modern art I enjoy. Main floor is the newest modern art and a bit of stretch for me. Fortunately the treasures are in the lower level and they are excellent and not to be missed. You will need minimum of two hours. Highly recommend

Not a huge fan of modern Art, but CoBrA has its appeal. And the best coffee in the cafe! Very interesting installation art. If you are in the neighborhood, give it a shot.

If you are areallly interested in Modern Art you should visit this small museum. You can appreciate this specific art movement that took place during the early 50s. A great and beautiful place, not crowds. Enjoy it!

Excellent exhibits on play as protest and on conflict. The setting is beautiful on the small body of water. Easily reached by tram.

Located at the centre of Amstelveen and close to The centrum market area. We loved the Cobra museum as they have got latest style and very modern art. We found it very interesting. On the ground floor there was an exhibition going on and first...More

The museum is entirely dedicated to the CoBrA movement and its close associates, with works by Appel, several recent acquisitions of Stephen Gilbert representative works, and more. It does a nice job introducing the movement to those somehow familiar, somehow, to the state of flux...More

We are art afficionados, and like the CoBrA movement in particular. However, many of the works in this museum were even not to our liking. It is only because of the temporal exibition on Pierre Alechinsky that we stayed a while (and that the review...More
