Just a Curiosity, Only the exterior of the House visible

You can view only the exterior of the house where a plaque layed in 1920 explains that Descartes lived in the building in 1634. Recommended only for philosophy diehards.

French Institute

Maison Descartes ( it's used to called "Institut français des Pays-Bas") is a French Institute for culture and language in Amsterdam. This institute promote the education and culture exchange. The Location is next to the French consulate in Amsterdam, it's at Vijzelgracht 2A. I used to come here when I was in the college. It has a beautiful garden. Last week I visited the multimedia centre to find some information about French but it was closed. And now, because of a problem with the building, they will close this place permanently started from June 30.

Not much to see

There is a plaque but nothing else. The plaque seems to say 1920 and I wonder if that was meant to say 1620...Highly recommended for Descartes enthusiasts.
