We spent a couple of hours at this free Dutch history lesson this afternoon. The historic exhibits were very interesting although all those on the lower levels are in Dutch only. If there had been English interpretations I would have given this attraction 5 stars....More

We were staying nearby and dropped in to see the basement. The doors to the vault are very cool indeed and the vaults are architecturally interesting. As is to be expected, the archives are in Dutch but there are photographs and maps that are accessible...More

Apart from special exhibitions (now one about Van Gogh's time in Amsterdam, before he became a painter) this attraction is for free. In a monumental building one finds important documents for the history of Amsterdam, including a document of Satisfaction, agreeing that Amsterdam was allowed...More
