We recently hired out 4 bikes from the shop near the Ice-bar. We happily paid £50 deposit for each bike, we declined the insurance for theft or damage as we were only hiring for 1 hour and would be on them at all times. The employee checked over all the bikes before we left and sent us on our way.... More

The girl on the counter was very friendly. The bikes had both seen better days but for €10 for 3 hours they were fine. Neither bike broke on us. Brakes could have done with a bit more life in them. No issues with deposit but we left cash to avoid any card shenanigans. I've heard there are better places to... More

While the staff were nice, the bikes are junk. My first bike's key broke in my hand the first time I tried to use it. The replacement bike's gears did not work. The next replacement had a seat that was stripped and just turned around and around. The next replacement had a broken headlamp (the store did notice that before... More

The deposit of 50 euros I felt was slightly high. Although my bike was not of outstanding quality it was still very much ride-able! I actually really enjoyed Amsterdam by bike and would recommend it to others. Returned the bikes at the end of the 24 hours with no issues of damage repair fees or other fees. One tip I... More

...which I am surprised to see. I attended with 4 friends on Monday 16 January 2017. Whilst it was alarming to put down 50 euros per bike, the bikes were good. No issues, quick and clean service. From my experience, I cannot complain.

We were tempted by the cheap prices for hiring a bike. What a mistake. The woman running the Dam Square shop is very unprofessional. We booked online but she could not access the booking and informed us we needed to email our booking to her. We told her we didn't have data (being from Aus) and instead of allowing us... More

They try to charge any damage when you return the bike. Our bike had a broken spoke from the begining. We didn't realize it. When we returned they charged 10€ for this repair. They don't want listen our explanations. They only look for deffects in the bikes to charge money to the clients. I don't recomend to rent bikes there

Same tyre repaired twice, both failed within 500m of the shop. Returned to the shop to find no attempt at taking responsibility and after being informed that this is possible to even a new bike, it was clear there was to be no customer service or compromise on solution even after considering buying a different bike from them. After then... More

We booked a bike tour with them and the price of 17,50€ per person is the cheapest we found in Amsterdam. The tour itself took 2 hours with a decent speed and around 10 stops on the way with plenty of information. Our guide was a cool guy from the UK. The only downside are the bikes and I wouldn't... Opted for a guided bike tour. The guide was a knowledgeable and attentive native English speaker who guided our party of two through the central attractions of Amsterdam. Visual scenery was complemented with insightful verbalisation which extended to historical significances, small facts, and information on local eateries that are less popular for tourists.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
