Sit back, chill and enjoy a cold beer

Great place to chill and have beer and beer. The finger food is Ok, but the ambience is great. The staff is very helpful.

We were staying in the hotel and came back to the bar for a few drinks after dinner. The atmosphere was great and it was quite busy. We managed to get a little table in the window which was lovely. We had Russian Bellinis to start which were strong but amazing! Would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed dining in this spacious area with vaulted ceilings. Many Amsterdam restaurants are small and cramped. The food is delicious and it's popular with the locals. Not "American" cuisine more French brasserie style. Nice reasonably priced wines.

The Bar Americain is a famous location in Amsterdam having been frequented by many artists and celebrities over the years. The service is very efficient and courteous. All you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy a perfectly made cocktail as you try to make out who the celebrities are in the pictures that adorn the walls.

After our visit to the theatre we had drinks in the bar. The bright red chairs and black walls don't make the bar a posh place. Bartender was very nice. Wine was okay but really overpriced by 20%. This place is definitely not for us, locals.

We called into this bar for a cup of hot chocolate which was fine. The waiters and waitresses were intent on ignoring us as we waited for a table and they all gave off an aura of superiority, perhaps it was the lull between lunch and dinner and they wanted to go off shift. The high spot of this visit... More

We just had an afternoon drink in this beautifully decorated cafe. We had been walking around the city and were foot weary. The afternoon teas looked wonderful as they passed by us and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It reminded me, a little. of the Central cafe in Vienna with out the selection of cakes.
