We enjoyed a nice lunch during a recent stay in the area. Nice friendly and homey atmosphere. Service and food were good. The tomato soup was delicious and quite satisfying served with bread. We tried the vegetable bitterballin which were interesting. A good choice for...More

Enjoyed a few beers in this charming, old style bar. The service was friendly and efficient. The beer, very good. The place was buzzing on both visits we made (2 days running). Lot's of locals, chat and fun. Not sure if the piano in the...More

We stopped for a lunchtime snack and opted for sandwiches. They were fantastic. The hummus on whole grain was a taste sensation. Service was polite and efficient. The only downside was the cafe is part of a 'treasure hunt' where youngsters came along in large...More

Quiet, relaxed little place on the edge of the delightful Jordaan area of Amsterdam. It was all a bit like going back in time - brown wood, people sitting there reading papers, traditional food. The onion soup was excellent - and with a big cheese...More

I went here on a Saturday evening with friends and found this little pub pretty nice. It was full but not so overcrowded that you were uncomfortable, service was good and nice choice of beers!

This was a welcome quiet spot away from the noordermarkt. We had our luggage with us as we had checked out of our apartment. We sat outside (it had canopies for shade or rain) and enjoyed our coffees, mint teas and the apple pie as...More

We went here twice during our 4 day stay as located on the way to and from our hotel to the central area. The staff were really friendly and food/drinks reasonably priced. Sat both inside one day and outside on another, people watching and having...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
