- Brian G15 contributionsInteresting and fun learning experienceVery interesting and great way to get to experience the human body. We enjoyed seeing the insides of our fellow man. Didn't think it was gory or grotesque and I would take my kids here if they were with. Only minus is there could have been more, we were definitely not "done" after walking through the entire exhibit.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 December 2023
- Ben D7 contributionsIncredible - Eye opening!Incredible exhibit with really eye opening displays. Taking the time to read all of the information really takes the purpose of this place to another level. Only point to note - my partner and I read all the information and were here for about 1.5 hours so don’t plan to make a visit for a whole morning or afternoon.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 December 2023
- JessicaEssex, United Kingdom13 contributionsReally interesting!Really interesting and informative exhibition! We were worried it was going to be quite gimmicky but it was the complete opposite! Each floor had different focus points and a good variety of plastinations to view and written information. I would definitely recommend a visit here when Amsterdam.Dear Jessica, Thank you so much for the 5 stars! We are happy to read that you visited us. We are glad that you liked the exhibition as we do our best to make it as educational and interesting as possible. We hope we can welcome you again in the future! - Mags P11 contributionsVery interestingMy friend and I came across Bodyworld whilst walking through Amsterdam, I had heard of this place and wanted to take a look. Arjen on the door was very likeable and funny, he encouraged us to go inside and very glad we did, it was very informative. We took a lift up to the sixth floor and worked our way down through the floors. I learned how the brain deteriorates through dementia, saw the workings of new hip joints and knee joints, the difference between an ordinary spleen and an enlarged spleen, and how important it is not to smoke, to be healthy and most importantly, to be happy! Very interesting place, there's something for everyone to learnDear guest, Thank you very much for sharing your review with us! A great exhibition that is well presented and very informative, take as long as you want with each floor explaining a different aspect of the body. Take time to read the inspirational quotes and don't forget to do the body analysis at the end and get your free print out.Dear tezpil, Thank you for this fantastic review! I expected much less, and I was amazed to see how much I didn't know, how much I've learned a out the human body, thing I should have known a long time ago. Thank you, Arjen, for recommending us to go inside. Thank you!Dear DinDanie, Thank you very much for your kind review. - Sue H43 contributionsFascinating and educationalBoth my partner and I loved our visit. It was so interesting to see so much of the inner workings of the human body, and the size and shape of numerous organs, blood vessels etc. It was sometimes annoyingly rowdy in some rooms with people talking loudly so we hovered at displays waiting for quieter times as there’s a lot to read and absorb. Grateful thanks to people/families who donated bodies to provide a learning experience for us. We spent 2 hours in the museum as we had somewhere else to be, but would’ve stayed longer had we been able to.Dear guest, Thank you for sharing your experience. - Nathan&GemmaKent, United Kingdom226 contributionsEye openingVisited Body Worlds as part of our Amsterdam trip. We had one of these in London but it suddenly closed down so never got to visit it. The price of our visit was £19.21 each. The experience it self is amazing and definitely an eye opener. You can see the multiple working ways of the human body from the veins, the nervous system to the brain. The way the bodies have been positioned is amazing and very interesting to see. A word of warning, there is a part within here with shows bodies of babies and the functions of pregnancy etc. There are also examples of a foetus from 9 weeks through the end of pregnancy. I know some people may find this distressing; as i witnessed whilst i was there however it is also very interesting to see but i guess it’s worth knowing as that is not really advertised. When i visited once i don’t think i would visit again unless a new exhibition opens.Dear NathanMun, Thank you so much for the kind review! - Gracie R2 contributionsFantastic experience with my mumHad an amazing experience!!!! It said the average experience is 1 hr or an 1hr and a half, we spent 3 hrs in there as there was just so much to read and see!!! If you're into science and how the body works this is defiantly something you should see. I probably wouldn't take kids with me as they'd get bored but it all depends on what you've got planned for the day. ARJEN answered all queries and discoveries we had adding to the experience further.Dear 814gracier, Thank you for this fantastic review! Me and friend visited in March 2020 the weekend Netherlands went into lock down we were concerned we would have nothing to do luckily Body Worlds was one of the places still open and we were glad it was. It was so fascinating we spent a good few hours walking around and looking at all the exhibit. The body scanner and test your blood pressure were a good touch. The swing is also good for a picture opportunity.
Really enjoyed it and would recommend.

We’ve been before but wanted to take our girls here as it is really unusual with fascinating, informative exhibits about the Human Body - from the inside out... our eldest is studying A level Biology so found it really useful.
We spent a good 2 hours wandering around the 6 floors. pre book online before you go and skip the queues.
Creepy but cool - enjoy

So I visited a few days earlier with my husband. A day before my birthday. Met Jim at the door he told us all about the experience and what to expect. Notified him about how it was my birthday the next day and he kindly gave a discount. When I got to the til Jim, Arjen and Madelief sang happy birthday to me it made the experience that bit more special and memorable. The actual experience of the muesuem was quite fascinating it seemed unreal. I had to keep questioning my husband are these actually real. I'd say it's definitely worth going to not just the actual experience but the staff are amazing too. A special thank you to Jim, Arjen and Madelief. Thank you for everything and for making it special.
Kind regards Taira and Mubashir.

When we arrived today we were greeted by Arjem who was so polite and friendly. Thank you!
We Spent nearly two hours walking around the various exhibits. Very educational, and such intricate displays. I have wanted to visit for so long and am so glad I finally made it.
My only negative (and in my opinion it is quite a big one) was the guy cleaning the toilets. He cleaned the toilet bowl with a cloth and then cleaned the door handles with the same cloth! He then replaced the toilet rolls with the same gloved hands he’d had down the toilet 🤢.
Would have easily given 5* if it hadn’t been for the toilet situation 😞

This science museum is so important for everyone who visits Amsterdam to go and see and as it is relevant to everyone because we all have bodies. I’m thankful to the people who generously donated their bodies to be preserved in plastics toon and this was so amazing to see and learn more about how my body works.
I also especially enjoyed the exploration of happiness; the meaning of it, the correlation of it and health, and how there should be less focus of money but on life itself!

So interesting & amazing it’s actually real people you are looking at.
When we went it was in the morning and comfortable walking about & looking, but I would imagine it could and does get very busy. The body works is over 4/5 floors & there is a lift & staircase.
I found items featured very informative

This was an incredible experience, being able to learn so much about the human body, with the entire exhibition combining science and art in such a stunning way. It can appeal to absolutely anyone, no matter how much knowledge one has on the human body, as for example I came in with only basic knowledge, while my girlfriend is in her 6th semester of medicine, and we both left equally amazed. The exhibition is brought together under the topic of happiness, which runs nicely through all the different stages. Individual body parts are nice and clearly labeled and the larger sculptures of humans were simply breathtaking.
The staff was very nice as well, we were greeted at the door by Arjen who made lighthearted jokes with us in English, Dutch and German and explained to us how to get started.
This has been by far my favorite experience that I've ever had in any exhibition/museum and would recommend it to absolutely everyone!

Although most of us will have some understanding of human biology we found from start to finish the whole 6 floor museum captivating.. To actually see different body systems explained and pulled together in a logical manner whilst being able to visualise in 3D made for a highly educational and enlightening visit. A little depressing as a common theme was how the body starts to fall apart and go wrong as it ages. At the end look after the body and you will make a 100 was tempered by the statistic of what small %ge actually do and even those that do won't be free of the effect of ageing

Excellent displays showcasing the incredible human body. Was in awe of the different displays on each level and the learning options available to visitors. Unfortunately during our walk through we multiple screams and the pounding of feet overhead running and the noise was so loud we honestly thought that there was some type of terror attack within the building and we didn't know what to do. The screams became louder and the running got closer then a school of teenagers burst through the door screaming and laughing, pointing at each of the display screaming and laughing whilst they ran from one to the other. Our fear turned to disgust. People have donated their bodies to science for this display and the disrespect shown by these teenagers was revolting. The teachers/adults in charge of them just allowed this behaviour to continue as they tore through the building swearing, pointing, laughing and running. There was no attempt to stop them or curtail their behaviours and I was absolutely disgusted. We were no longer able to enjoy the display as their continued behaviours detracted too much and more and more teenagers and school were running unchecked through the facility so we left. We did raise this with staff as we left and placed a complaint with them and Arjen in particular was very understanding and equally appalled. It's a shame that such a wonderful learning opportunity is not honoured with the respect it deserves - both by the schools but by the management of the facility to obviously allow too many school groups at once and don't place strict behaviour codes for them to abide by. As a health professional I am absolutely disgusted.

We paid for the audio tour but to be honest ended up not listening to it as all the rooms have explanations under the displays and stuff written on the walls etc.
