Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not only was the Richard flexible and patient with my trying to book a time for the In the Dark experience but Walter, my guide, was incredible. We spent almost 2 hours in the experience and he was very open about his blindness and how he lives his life. It's amazing how dark they get the place! Walter asked questions that really made me think about what it would be like to be blind and how I would handle certain environments. He made me feel comfortable in what was a very uncertain situation for me.

I was hungry when I finished the experience and had dinner, not fondue, at the restaurant. Turns out I was incorrect in identifying the food I ate, but it was delicious. I couldn't see my plate, the food, the silverware....Quite the evening and I highly recommend you take both the tour and eat a meal or dessert.

We were a group of 11 persons and all of us enjoy the experience. The service was a little slow with the drinks in special but I guess it was because we were noise and maybe we confuse the waiter. Anyway, they were really nice and the food was really tasty. I think it is an experience you should try ;)

I went there for dinner with my husband during our visit to Amsterdam. It was our first dining in the dark experience and love it! We like the way that we were served (mainly by Luke - he is so professional!), everything was so thoughtful. Food portion was quite big at this price. I will recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to try this out!

Thank you to the staff there & the ones who created this restaurant/experience.

Incredible experience for my family. We really enjoyed spending the time together in such a challenging environment for the sighted person. Wow is all I can really say. Be prepared. If you are claustrophobic or subject to panic attacks or generally afraid of the dark, this is not for you. The food was great, the waiter Urun was amazing. Try it if you dare. We went with 80,57,50,17,14.

If you eat next door at CTaste, make sure to book a tour here following your meal. Book it for two hours after the beginning of your meal. Let them know whether you want the tour conducted in Dutch or English. It is a cab or uber ride from downtown, but it wasn't a terribly long ride. It was good to get out of the canal zone, for at least a little while.

You should do this. I had no idea how you could do a tour while completely in the dark, and it isn't really a tour. It's an experience. A "glimpse" into what it would be like to experience the world without the benefit of sight. I think everybody should do this. It builds empathy, and also gratitude. Take this tour, and you will leave thankful for what you HAVE.

This was an absolute amazing experience. From start to finish every sence apart from sight was on overload. Only scary part was the trip to the table. Food was nice, took a bit of getting used too finding where, then trying to think what you were eating. A great experience, would do it again.

I've visited CtheCity together with my girlfriend with a dinner at Ctaste (in the dark) afterwards. It was fun to be guided by a blind man through several completely dark area's. I think they could make it more fun by adding more smelling, feeling and tasting games and more obstacles.

Overall very much worth visiting!

We loved the experience and have a whole new respect and admiration for people that are visually impaired. It really was worth the visit.
