Neighbourhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Pretty new to it so wanted to visit a nice place, staff were friendly and explained options. Got a pre rolled mild joint to share, 3.5 euros very well priced. Personally found it didn’t affect either of us one bit! Shame but maybe it was too mild? Not sure but note there is only 2 tables in there so you may be buying to go

2 Best coffeeshops we visited whilst in Amsterdam and this was one of them. Google maps took us back there 3 times without knowing we were going there. Good result,as got to have another one of their hot chocolate drinks and a couple pieces cake. If in Amsterdam you must visit here. It’s out of the centrum but a nice walk. Very relaxed atmosphere, and not expensive. Very popular place, many people were just buying, we did have to wait for a seat one time. Definitely be going back.

A great little coffeeshop in one of the nicest areas of Amsterdam... the jordaan. It has a really laid back and friendly vibe and is one of the better coffeeshops in the city. Just enough of a walk from the centre that there are not so many British yobs. Reasonably priced and they do smaller 0.5g deals for those it may interest. Whilst there i tried their ice wash hash which was decent, a spicy soft black hash reminiscent of good old school 90’s soft black. Great shop.

Great customers service. Helped us to make safe choices and due to inexperience on our part. We listened to the advice given and had an amazing time. The cake tasted great. We went back for more on another day! Couldn’t recommend enough.

Situated within a quieter part of the city, beside a lovely canal. Reasonably priced products together with very helpful advice. The cake was not only delicious but had a very satisfying effect. Totally recommended.

don't be fooled by the space cakes offered at any coffeeshop in amsterdam. a lot of places make them weaker because tourists who don't want to smoke want an alternative to get high. make sure you ask how much cannabis is in each cake. paradox had the most potent one we could find, at 1 gram. it was delicious and the effects were well noted. the coffeeshop itself is a nice retreat off the main drag in the beautiful zone that is Jordaan. staff was super friendly, their prices are fair, and they have a couple volcano vapes for customer's use. top notch shop.

During our trip we made a beeline for Paradox as we had read glowing reviews about the edibles. The muffins we had eaten the day before tasted delicious, but didn't provide much of a buzz. Well, the cake Paradox sold more than made up for that! A slice of cake is packed with 1g, and you are advised to eat only half if you are experienced -and even less if you aren't. Half was more than generous, and when it kicked I was out of my tree! The taste itself was pleasant, and the scent was heavenly. This is the ideal location for your edible needs. Unfortunately it was relatively busy when we arrived and as there wasn't a place for us to sit we didn't stay to enjoy the shop itself, which was a pity as the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is chilled. It has a lovely comfortable vibe and I will certainly be returning to enjoy the full experience in the future.

I recently visited Amsterdam for my 50th birthday and, as part of the experience, wanted to try cannabis for the first time. During our stay, we passed by many "coffee" shops in Amsterdam and were put off by the hordes of young male stoners loitering about these shops. By chance, we passed by Paradox en route to another destination one day and decided (based on a Rick Steves recommendation) to go in. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm; the waitress/owner (?) was lovely -- friendly, knowledgeable, low key; there were no hordes of young male stoners. We ordered the lightest pure weed joint in the joint ("natural high") and sat down and enjoyed it. As a result of my inexperience I got a little more toasted than I had planned, but the mature, safe, unthreatening environment at Paradox made the whole experience worthwhile.

Shared a space cake with one friend who has never had weed before and myself and saw no affects. We started a quarter each as per with instructions and waited 2 hours before having the other quarter each. None of us experienced any effect. Found this place from its good reviews here so just wanted to share my less than satisfactory experience...the cake tasted pretty good but sadly that's the only positive thing I have to say. Hope others get good cakes or have suggestions for others to try elsewhere
