Uber-ed from Hoofddorp to Haarlem because we didn't want to commute into Amsterdam. 10kms from our hotel, in the charming and delightful Haarlem (wish I knew about this place before), we were helped with tastings by the friendly girls in-store. They vacuum sealed the cheese for the trip home, including labelling for Australian customs the fact that the cheese is... More

The workers at the store were VERY HELPFUL and are able to vacuum pack cheese to go home with you. I got truffle cheese and bunker cheese. They know their cheese! A+

Stopped here on a food tour. The staff really know their cheese. We tried several types and ended up buying quite a bit! A vast assortment of fine cheeses! Worth the stop

The staff seemed friendly enough and the sample we had was good. However, I asked the staff to vacuum pack the cheese for travel. They said they would no problem. When I was at the till I asked again and they said it was all fine and ready to travel. I came home to discover the €13 gorgonzola I bought... More

Go here now! First of all, the shop is full of amazing cheese which you can taste most of! Secondly they have very well priced and delicious sandwiches using their own produce. Go there, grab a yummy sandwich and sit along the canals watching the world go by. Wish I could go back today.

As a Wisconsin resident I pride myself in knowing a bit about cheese but when I went to Kaashuis Tromp I felt like a novice. The marvelous and enormous array of cheese they display is simply amazing and would be a bit perplexing if it weren't for the great staff who were so helpful in offering samples and explaining about... Sorry to hear about hard cheese.... Next time: deep freeze first when you are home .. Then keep cheese out vacuum, in cloth + Tupperware in your fridge. ( but if they were the tiny ones, they do have tendacy to dry-out). STILL... A PIECE OF GOOD GOUDA IS DELICIOUS!!

If you find yourself in Alkmaar (which is a wonderful City north of Amsterdam), visit Kasshuis Tromp for your Gouda and other dutch cheese purchases. The staff are very friendly and are helpful when needing the cheese vacuum sealed for travel back to the States. I visit Tromp cheese whenever I am in Alkmaar, which is at least twice a... More

Get ready to be tantalized by the various smiths and smells of this unique cheese shop! I tried several samples, all delicious! My favorite was a green cheese that had a lot of pesto infused in it! The workers were friendly and helpful. I purchased a wonderful cheese grater that they said was the favorite and best in Holland! They... More

This is a lovely cheese shop chock-full of a huge variety of Dutch and European cheeses. Plenty of Gouda here, but lots of other types too. There are samples available of several of the cheeses, and they also sell a small selection of bread, meat and deli products. The staff are friendly and will vacuum-seal any non-refrigerated cheese for flying.... More
