Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The visit is included in the Amsterdam Card, otherwise the price is around 5 euros per person. Inside the windmill you can discover how the mechanisms of the mill itself work. Going up to the first floor you reach a panoramic terrace which we really appreciated because it offers a wonderful view of Zaanse Schan. Overall we really enjoyed the visit and recommend it!

At this windmill you can experience firsthand the history of the industry in the Zaandam region.
A great wonder to see and understand how they have previously created materials for industry and manufacturing.
There is guidance from the local and kind staff and a written guide is available in many languages.

We ended up in this windmill during a stormy day so it was mostly for ourselves. The structure remains almost as its origins and it's very interesting to see.

If you are curious about mechanisms and how it functions, the windmill manager can provide a great explanation (his family has been managing the structure in the last decades), which definitely made our visit way more interesting.

Happy faces, enthusiasm and great environment, I would definitely advise to visit this windmill.

I only saw these mills from pictures or during trips by train. Today, I got in the Molen De Kat for 5€. Very interesting to see how they internally work and the view from the top has been very suggestive. Thinking how they invented such mechanisms centuries ago is astonishing. Love them

For only 4€, you'll get a chance to discover a typical windmill that used to produce spices. The smell of the wood and spices, the old photographs and the beautiful view on top make the visit totally worth it, though a little bit short and sometimes crowded of tourists.

I liked the mill too much.
The main reason is their idea to translate the brochure to all languages!
It is the only sight-seeing where I received a brochure in Farsi / Persian.
Besides, there is the possibility to visit all parts of a mill. We liked it too much.
