Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In 1898 a new monarch from the Orange family was installed as head of state. To celebrate the event, all over the country monuments were erected. In some cities like Rotterdam, Breda and Deventer they still stand. Sometimes removed and then later placed back. In Deventer it disappeared in 1960 to make way for cars, but in 1985 it was decided to place it back. Luckily the lady on top is not Wilhelmina, the monarch linked with colonial war, but the city virgin of Deventer.

The Wilhelmina Fountain is taller than expected. It has a prominent position on De Brink. It is a magnet for people to sit near or children to play around.

The fountain is located at the town square of Deventer, de Brink. It's beautiful fountain with the "Virgin of Deventer" on the top. You can't miss it if you're in Deventer.

The "Wilhelminafontein" was unveiled in 1898, in the year that Queen Wilhelmina was crowned. It is a landmark on the Brink, the central square in Deventer. A curious detail is, that in the '60s of last century, traffic flow over the Brink was designated as so important, that the Wilhelminafontein was removed, to make room for traffic. Luckily, the fountain was restored in the '80s of last century and traffic is all but banished from the Brink.

This fountain was built in 1898 and is just a few steps from the museum De Waag. It's located on the other end of the central town square. It consists of a central statue carved to have 3 sides, each with a cherub playing a horn, overhanging the water basin. On the outside of the basin are in turn three nautilus shells.
