We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The historical Bergkwartier/ district was built around a big church ,in the 12 th century. The church has a unique location on a hill .In 1206 the bishop of Riga came here to dedicate the church to St Nicholas ,the patron of merchants .The church was reconstructed in the 15 th century into a gothic basilica .Today the nice church is used for cultural activities ,the 13 th century paintings inside are great ,as well as the organ .There were a few visitors inside ,couldn't find any English information about it .I really enjoyed the medieval atmosphere around it .

the bergkerk (berg church), built in the 12th and 13th centuries, is unique in the north of the Netherlands.

The 'Bergkerk' (hill church) is an old church, well renovated. It's no longer a house of pray, but a cultural building on a small hill in the 'Bergkwartier', the medievel part of the town. It's nowadays a cultural or exposition building. Often exhibitions of art, which are free to visit. No food and beverages available, but still a small toilet room (mind your head!)

What is always sad to me is when I see beautiful churches in the Netherlands that are not used any more as a home for prayers. This is one of such churches. It is now used as a gallery.
Amazing masterpiece, when you're inside, you have feeling that you walk through history.
Really recommend to visit when you are in Deventer.
Deventer in general is not very touristic place, not as popular as Amsterdam or the Hague but it's really worth visiting.
And bergkerk is one more reason to visit Deventer.

Go down Walstraat with its nice antiques shop and you'll get into the beautiful Bergkwartier with the old church which is not too impressive but still worth a visit.

This is a nice old church, and probably really interesting to look around. However on the day that we visited it was hosting a tattoo exhibition/convention and they wanted eleven euros each to get in. We passed but it's probably worth checking ahead if the Bergkerk is on your Deventer must-do list.

The "Bergkerk" (Mountain Church) is a substantial church building from the Middle Ages, located on a small hill in Deventer center (hence Mountain Church). I would like to tell you more about this church, but a note was fastened on the door, saying "Vandaag gesloten" (Today closed). As it is "today" every day, I suspect that this church won't be open for the public in the near future. (Compare the sign "tomorrow free beer" at the pub.) So my visit to the "Bergkerk" was disappointing.
