Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located on the Janskerkhof square in the heart of Utrecht, the St John's Church (Janskerk) which is dedicated to John the Baptist dates back to the 11th century and was one of the city's 5 collegiate churches during the Middle Ages. Although it went into a period of disrepair, it was eventually restored in the 20th century. The church is currently not open to the public, so you can only admire the Romanesque architecture from the outside. Don’t feel too disappointed yet….. if you happen to be there on a Saturday, you can enjoy the weekly flowers market set up around the church. Also standing watch outside the church is a bronze statue of Anne Frank, whose diary has made her the global symbol for Holocaust victims.

I passed by this church while walking from my hotel to the Dom Tower. Surprisingly , there is no fee to enter it. Decorations are simple, staff were friendly.
Tips: The statue of Anne Frank and a big square can be found here.

I'd call it a minimalist church. It's so simple and charming on the inside! the outdoors is just as gorgeous and imponent, because of its size. the surroundings are peaceful and clean, very suitable for a walk or bike riding.

As well as just coming to look at this interesting church, a visit on a Saturday morning is well rewarded. The church grounds become a giant flower market - for bulbs, seedlings, potted plants and cut flowers of all sorts. The prices are unbelievably cheap - from my experience in Australia - and the flower quality excellent. No wonder you see homes with lovely vases of flowers.

Visited this church for a ceremony. People rent it for functions but you can also just visit it, it is very beautiful from inside and has also a lot of meaning, it is one of the most famous churches in Utrecht and it is also nearby the centrum.

Janskerk has a new concept, to me anyways, where this church can be rented our for special occasions like conferences and lectures. As a church it serves the purpose. Free entrance.

We had lectures at the Janskerk. A lovely architecture. Prayers do continue in the church, but it was nice of the authorities to allow the lectures during IASC 2017

What a unique approach to rent out the church in order to keep it functioning!
It is definitely a place I would recommend for people who are looking for an out of the box venue for their event.
We had quite modest and appropriate dinner there, however I believe that it may attract quite a colorful international crowd due to this unconventional idea.

Janskerk Janskerkhof - a Christian church located in the city center. The church was not that interesting inside, but the best thing was that you could use the toilet here for free. The church was big with free entrance.
