We visited this house after we had been to the Nieuw Museum. We were greeted by a very nice man who explained we needed to wear overshoes to protect the house. We were given the free audio tours and as you walk around the building...More

Located very close to the Boymans van Beuningen museum, it is well worth a visit if you are interested in architecture or interior design. The house was designed for one of the directors of the van Nelle factory, his wife and 2 daughters. It is...More

This is a housey-housey blast from the past. A beautifully preserved 1930s architectural gem right in the city centre. It has free audio tours and takes you back to the pre-war era.

This museum gives a view on how people were living in the middle of the last century. Its so nice to see how people could live without tv or smartphone :-)

this is a hidden gem that gives a smile on your face, taking you back to the 20ies/30ies with all kinds of little details. It so fits in a Rotterdam building tour, gotta see it!

We went here because visiting Kunst Hal was a complete let down and we wanted to try out luck in another museum. What a pleasant surprise it was. A sneak peek into what was hip and progressive living in the 30's. well worth the visit

An amazing example of functionalist architecture (it was built in 1933), with the original furniture or faithful copies and a very exhaustive description of the house, the family for whom it was conceived and the historical setting. It is all extremely interesting and the house...More

This is included in the price of entry to het niewe instituut. The house is fascinating. Definitely take a copy of the notes as you walk around as there's so much info in there.
