Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Poor customer service from front desk cashier 'Yelmar', who claimed to be the manager and didn't know pathe's policy, couldn't tell me where the policy was on the website, point out the policy he was enforcing on the flyer in front of him. He even had to call customer service to be told what number the policy was on
Even after waiting for 3 hours outside the location for the movie to start and then it started raining and we had to take shelter during this period and wait for the rain to stop and get back to the theater he said that we are 20 mins late and their policy was 15 mins, so he wouldn't let us in.
When asked the use of a flyer he couldn't state nor could he describe where on the website it was.
Audio recording available. Total embarrassment caused by him. people like him leave bad reputations for organisations, and drive away customers = poor customer satisfaction and reduced turnover. Recruitment/ HR should move him away from the public, such disgusting tone and attitude should never be displayed to the costumer!!!

Very big theater with great seats. only the Dutch subtitles seemed to cover up or at least distract from English ones. No versions without subtitles are available at all.

This very central place is easy teachable from the main train station and offers what a pathe can offer (no 4xd!).
I really don't like the concept where you have to walk trough a candyland before you reaxh the foyer but i guess thats a thing now (can always visit kino, lantaarn venster or Cinerama if you want a less decent screen but better enjoyment)
Overall a pretty ok place, the renovationwork on the outer facade really revitalizes the square

The pathe was the first big movie theater in Rotterdam. It remains a nice place to go to. The shop mostly offers candy. Not cheap however...

Plus points:
Nice cinema, well located, nice areas, clean, great variety in the snacks department, lots of movies to choose, kids friendly.
Min points:
Location of the bathrooms, snacks a bit too pricey and not the friendliest type of staff, they are not rude but they are also not nice.

Visited this cinema many times and I only had one bad experience with this cinema. This was during Dunkirk, the sound was so loud my ears hurt, even a few hours later on the day I could still feel it. Of course this was a combination of the movie and the cinema. Because the movie uses a lot of hard sound effects. This one time they made a mistake by not checking the sound, all the other times (around 30 times) I never had any complaints. It is a lovely cinema (especially screening room number 4). Great seating, and the screens deliver a very good quality. There is a lot of choice concerning snacks and drinks.
The toilets are clean and the staff is very friendly.
It is a pretty large cinema, more romantic than any other Pathe cinemas. But still not very cosy and romantic like other cinemas I visited. The popcorn is not made by Pathe itself and therefore not as fresh as it could be. But still, all the snacks and drinks are great.
On hot days they even hand out free ice creams when leaving the cinema!
I’d definitely recommend it!

A great experience for my daughter. Once a month they do a special viewing for young children where they leave the lights on. It was a perfect first time experience. In with the price of the ticket you also get a Childrens fun box with popcorn, drink, Sweets and toy and for the adults a coffee and a kitkat! So don’t do like we did and buy your coffee first!! It did say with the ticket so I should have read the instructions!

Programming for this cinema is plain vanilla. No arthouse movies. That is a missed opportunity. It seems as if the seating is a bit cramped, not nice if you have long legs.

If you're looking to go see a movie while in Rotterdam, this movie theater is rather good. It has a good selection of movies, though the times are not so often, probably due to the large movie selection. The prices are similar to most any western movie theater, 13-15 Euro's/dollars. The main problem I had is that the bathrooms are done on the ground floor, so if you have to go during the movie, make sure to be ready to take 10 -15 out of your movie time and wait for the escalator to work in reverse or take 4 flights of stairs. I think they are working on some renovation and putting in new toilets but I didn't see anything near complete. The selection of drink, candy, and other snacks is larger than I've ever seen at a movie theater. I hope to be back soon

Having been to Rotterdam a couple of times we decided to take it easy this time and go watch a movie. We chose The Great Wall showing at the IMAX. €26 for two including the glasses (Keep them as they appear bigger than in the UK and my wife could comfortably wear her glasses at the same time) was worth the couple of hours relaxing in those great chairs and watching a great film.
The IMAX is at the very top of the building and there are NO lifts to it that we could see, just stairs! So if you are in a wheelchair you are sorely out of luck. This is why I ranked 4/5. Minus 1 for poor disabled access.
Be aware that unless otherwise stated that all films are in the original language with Dutch subtitles. A fact I didn't think about whilst booking a movie set in China with a predominantly Chinese cast, lol, although this didn't stop our enjoyment.
The comment 2 or 3 below mine makes me laugh. He is complaining that there are Dutch subtitles! In a Dutch cinema!! Shock, horror!!! Lol!
