The Mauritshuis is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. The compact, yet world-renowned collection, is situated in the heart of The Hague, right next to the government centre. Masterpieces such as Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, The Goldfinch by Fabritius and The Bull by Potter are on permanent display in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century monument.

The Mauritshuis is truly a wonderful art museum. It is devoted to the Dutch Golden Age and features paintings from Jan Steen, Paulus Potter, Rembrandt and Johannes Vermeer -among many other fantastic painters. I cannot emphasize enough that when you are in The Hague, this is the place to visit for a few hours. Just walk through (and don't forget... More

The museum is much more than you see from The street. It is even special desinging trick. The building inside seems to be much much bigger. The collection of paintings is really huge, everyone should those masterpieces in their lives at least one time. Price is really nice especially when you watch THESE paintings.

A beautiful exhibition of beautiful Old Dutch painters like Jan Steen and Vermeer. This was a special exhibition of paintings in the possession of the British Royal family. But there is much more to see.

The entrance costs 14€ (if you plan to visit more than 5 museums in The Netherlands, search for the museumkaart) + 3,50€ for the audio tour (you can also download it to your cell phone for free), but it is worth its money. For the visit you should estimate more than 2 hours (maybe 3 if you want to listen... More

I really like everything about this place. It's a beautiful building with a great modern entrance below street level. It's small enough to make it a quick visit (let's say an hour) but interesting enough to stay much longer than that! The collection is truly a fantastic representation of the 'golden century' in The Netherlands with the likes of Rembrandt,... More

This was always an imposing mansion, but the modernisation has taken it to another level. The home of The Girl with the Pearl Earring and many Rembrandts is a must see in The Hague.

Do yourself and add this museum to your itinerary when in The Hague. It's one of the most beautiful art collections in the Netherlands, together with the Rijksmuseum and the Kröller-Müller Museum, but then this one is cosy and gives you the feeling of being in someone's home (which you don't want to leave anymore).
