The Mauritshuis is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. The compact, yet world-renowned collection, is situated in the heart of The Hague, right next to the government centre. Masterpieces such as Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, The Goldfinch by Fabritius and The Bull by Potter are on permanent display in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century monument.

Who knew the Queen would make the Vermeer that Tim recreated so public so soon? This is actually a very beautiful collection worthy of seeing while it is still there. Interesting contrast of how the Dutch museum works are under the ownership of the citizens of the Netherlands and the Queen of England still personally owns the artwork that is... More

The Mauritshuis is a very nice museum to visit when in Den Haag. You can see everyting easily in one day. Its in the city centre, which is also nice. It holds some of the finest dutch paintings. I really love girl with the pearl earring and stadsgezicht op Delft by Vermeer.

One of the better art museums I've been to in my travels. They have a wonderful collection of some of the finest Dutch paintings... I was particularly affected by The Goldfinch and Vermeer's View of Delft. I gave myself about 2 hours here, but I definitely could have lingered longer. If you have a smart phone, download their app for... More

One highlight is that the museum has "Girl with a Pearl Earring" the oil painting by 17th-century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.

A must see for anyone visiting The Hague for more than one day. The museum is not very big, but all the items are top class, even the building itself is wonderful!

Want Rembrandts, Vermeers, Hals, Steen plus more without the crowds of the big galleries, then go here! I have been going to this gallery for years and the place is medium size but well organised and less crowded than most... The Hague is a good place to visit too!

We enjoyed our afternoon wandering the rooms and studying the beautiful art and the beautiful building. The highlights for me were The Girl with the Pearl Earring and The Bull. Reasonable entry fee, especially when you discover your coats and extra bags are checked for free.

Well I came to the city precisely because of some of the art works present in the museum. That says what I think of them, so I'll focus on other aspects. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The museum conditions are great. The building itself is fantastic and deserving of the artworks it holds.

Once you're staying for a sight seeing in The Hague it's a must to visit the Mauritshuis. Paintings of the most important Dutch painters you will find within this museum. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Brueghel etc. you will meet there. So not visiting this site you either don't have any interests in classical paintings or you miss a great part of The... More

Visited here when on a day trip to The Hague in December. I remember hearing about a good art museum here so we decided to check it out. Entrance was a very good price, and the museum itself was fantastic. A really beautiful building filled with incredible art. The museum didn't feel 'elitist', it felt like anyone could visit and...
