If you are in Antwerp you must see this even if you didn't arrive or leave by train. The original station is a wedding cake of 'Look at Me and feel lucky to have arrived in Antwerp!'. It is real Belle Époque stuff. And then the renovations are equally strong but respectful of the original. The modern interventions are all... More

I did a stop at the central train station of Antwerp. Impressive and classical architecture. Modernized hall and plenty of shops, ie Starbucks. The only inconvenient experiences on my departure with an High speed train: I was seeking video screens everywhere... They could place more information screens in the building. But overall, a beautiful station.

One of the most beautiful train stations in the world! When visiting Antwerp with witchever transportation this is a must see! Old meets new, lots of shops, look up to the roof in the old part!

Loved the three level central station and the was completely awed by its gigantic size. The old 18th century architecture blended with the modern construction quite smoothly. Everything was available that you could think of. My only itch was that the person at the information center didn't know much about local transport and wasn't able to guide us about it.... More

Like many stations built over a 100 years ago in splendid granduer, Antwerpen Centraal is no exception, with a fantastic entrance and 2 levels of platforms below street level ('-1' = terminus platforms 11 -14 & '-2' through platforms 21 - 24 used mainly by the 'Thalys' & 'Benulux' services between Amsterdam and Brussel. On level '+1' is now platforms... More

We arrived in Antwerp by train from Brussels. The train ride took about one hour. We were instantly awed by the architecture of the Antwerp train station. We have been to many trains stations around the world and this is probably the most beautiful. In addition, it is quite functional with multi-level platforms, very good signage, with enough shops and... More

This station is really beautiful! It is massive and there is a lot to see. There's also everything you need, drink, food and the girl's best friend: diamond! I would recommend to visit it even if you don't need to take the train!

If for no other reason, you just spend a while here to view the architecture, the whole visit will be worth the time spent. I was told that it is comparable to St Pancras, but to me, it exceeds that. At the time this was constructed, railway travel was in its infancy, therefore no one knew what was expected of... More
