We took a boat tour of Antwerp's port and learned so much about what actually happens here. It's amazing to think about the inner workings of such an important part of our every day lives.

Though it being near crowded tourists spots and near the sea, there wasn't any crowd here as one would expect. The water was clean and not even it was crowded with boats or ships. And being near the sea, this place was really peaceful and calm. Would recommend for the quiet seeking solo traveler.

The old port of Antwerp boasts some really historic buildings but it is the new buildings which startle and amaze. One of them appears to have a glass hull of a large ship on it roof. As the light or the sun catches the different glass panels there are reflections which are stunning.

We stopped for a quick visit to Anvers on the way to Amsterdam. The port is definitely a must see, with great scenery some nice old boats.. We loved it!

Lots of different ways to visit the second largest port in Europe. Suggest to start with the docks around the MAS and gradually make your way up north to the Red Star Line Museum and the iconic building of the Port House, the final masterpiece of Zaha Hadid.
