A bustling square, with lots of nice shops and restaurants around the perimeter. There's some specialty beer shops where you can purchase a beer to go and then stroll around town. A great place to take pictures.
You are going to come to the Grote Markt anyway so may as well take a look at this statue which is based around the legend of the giant throwing the hand - how Antwerp got its name basically. Worth a photo!
The statue is part of Antwerps history and folklore and a must-see in the historic city center.

When this Josef Lambeaux’s commissioned work was unveiled, apparently the populace was astonished by it..and not in a good way! From historical accounts, it was considered grotesque, garish, and lewd….and like some of his other works, controversial and a huge waste of money.
