My home city has the Washington Monument and the Capitol Buildings for its symbols, Brabo seems to be one for Antwerp! Located at the center of Grote Market, it is easy to find! Near by are the Stadhuis, Tourist Office, the Cathedral, restaurants and shops.

This is a statue with an interesting legend attached which you can see in other recent reviews. Given that Antwerpen supposedly means 'hand throwing' this Brabo legend re the severed hand is where the name of the city and its people comes from, no doubt...More

just another statue of some important city icon. during the day makes a fountain, better go day and night as city lights change the viewing

Definitely go into this marketplace to see the statue and surrounding architecture. Beautiful area. So many people around, they will gladly take your picture. Park for free about 10 minutes south.

nice square around Brabo, nice story behind it, but not gonna tell you, you have to visit and ask a guide or a local to explain, ..oretty interesting

This huge statue in front of the town hall with a dismembered hand about to be thrown depicts an interesting legend do find out about it and then you can admire the monument in this stunning cobbled square
