If you happen to be in the Hoogstraat drop by...just down the road from a fabulous sandwich place called Break Point...recommend the omelette and bacon sandwich....the Zwarte Panter is a walk in art galley - free of change as for as I understand it - and well wroth a visit.

the entrance to the gallery is free, so what not wander in and see what is on display ? and while doing so you enter a special place : historical indeed, the chapel and its own (long) history, the owner uniquely connected to the art scene for a long time we bought some art here but the place is welcoming... Galerie De Zwarte Panter has a long history in the Antwerp art scene. Most of its represented artists are getting quite old (70 or 80+), and not many younger artists are involved with the gallery anymore except for, for instance, the painter Nick Andrews. De Zwarte Panter mostly shows paintings, and has a special, permanent section for artist Fred Bervoets.... More

Art gallery and house of the pelgrims, the main gallery for the work of Fred Berrevoets. The chapel is one of the rooms to expose art. The adres is Hoogstraat 70-74, not Haagstreet!

A must see for art fans. A small assorted arrangement of art in beautiful old surroundings. A hidden jem in the centre of Antwerp.

One of the Sunday must-do. Nice to have a walk in what seems to be an old Church converted to an art exhibition. Nice to go there on Sundays because it is in one of the few streets with open shops and lot of people around.

If you come through the gate of the gallery you leave the noise and crowds of shoppers behind. Wander through the different exposition spaces (one in an old chapel) around the court yard garden, even if you are not interested or financially able to buy the art pieces. Highly recommended!
