Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a really nice and mind-blowing experience. The place is filled with restaurants and bars and most of them are pretty affordable. I've had a not-so-pleasant experience with one waitress who treated me differently when I spoke French and English but the place de brouckere itself is really nice to visit!

This is a major square that dates back to the late 19th-century when it was constructed on the former grounds of the Temple of the Augustinians and named after former Mayor Charles de Brouckère. The square is mostly an open paved pedestrian square where events and festivities are held.
Historically, in the early 20th-century this was a posh theatre and dining area but these days, it is more worn down. Today you will find park benches and open space, lined with old buildings including the historic Hotel Metropole as well as others with Neo-classical facades on the southeast side of the square. Do take a moment to enjoy the delightful old Continental Hotel on the northeast end of the square.
On the northwest side, there is a row with more traditional Flemish Neo-Gothic style architecture opposite the Hotel Metropole. There are also casinos, fast food, hotels and other eateries. You will also find entrance to the historic Passage du Nord and Metro station service here as well.

This is an ordinary (while strangely shaped) square in the northern part of town.
The square does show signs of neglect.

De Brouckère Square is a major public square in central Brussels and named after a former mayor of Brussels and professor at the Free University of Brussels, Charles de Brouckère.
There are some fine buildings around the square such as the Hotel Coninental with a large Coca- Cola sign on it's roof and the expensive looking Hotel Metropole. The square is almost at the apex of the Boulevard Anspach shopping street and like most European public squares, is arrayed with many restaurants and cafes around it. The only downside is that there’s some renovation going on, so you can’t see the square in full glory.
I visited back in September, but this has only been added as an attraction. Strange. Regardless, De Brouckère Square is a great place to visit as a landmark square in the city.

Square Brouckère (Place de Brouckère) is one of the main squares in Brussels for several cultural activities. Besides, you'll find the UGC movie theater here (the largest movie theater in Central Brussel), several pubs and restaurants. The square has been renovated and is now traffic-free.
In very near walking distance, there's also the entrance to the main shopping street: Rue Neuve (Rue is French for street). On the included video and photos of the Korean Culture Days, you'll get a sense of the atmosphere on the square Brouckère.
