This is the very heart of Brussels, the square is dominated by large and ornate buildings steeped in history and by lots and lots of tourists. Visiting the Grand-Place is a bit of a must if you are visiting the city but unless you have a good guide-book or a real live guide to bring the history alive.... it is... More

The square is amazing, one of the best landmarks of the city. The architecture is amazing with the golden work. There are many cultural events and shows hosted regularly at this place. Its amazing to just sit at one of the cafes/restaurants and admire the grand place. During Christmas they also have the light and sound show , which is... More

We were here during the Christmas markets and got to see the light show that happened in the square every night. If you are close by make it down to watch. I think it was a 15 min show that started every 30 mins on the weekend, unsure of weekdays.

Nice place for the weekend for shopping. Large no. of tourists visit this place. This is the famous marketing centre of Brussels city. In the evening, the grand place is fully crowded. Plenty of chocolate shops are located around this place.

The Place is large and imposing from the word go. The buildings have superb architecture and the grounds are large. Nice place to visit and spend some time on.

We spent Christmas in Brussels and the first thing we did when e arrived was go to the Grand Place. The decoratons were quite nice. It has a Christmas Market close by but quite small. And at around 18:00 the light and sound show began. It is one of the pretiest things I have seen in my life, it really... More

The architecture was beautiful, and even with no events (markets or whatnot) going on in the square, it was still nice. There are lots of shops and dining in the area and surrounding streets, so it's definitely worth a walk around.

We came here during the wintertime in december. It was cold but still beautiful buildings even though a few were being worked on. Make sure to return here during the night to see the lightshow and hear the music the play every so often. Not sure how often the show starts and if its only during xmas season, but it... More
