The building is beautiful and the staff lovely, unfortunately the food is terrible. The chicken was cremated and the sausage and mash, tasteless.

We were delighted to see that Falstaff was open again as we love this sort of bar/restaurant. Served by young girl who clearly did not think this was her dream job. Another much more pleasant waited brought our drinks. It was lovely sat in the sun watching the world go by. Unfortunately, I needed to go to the toilet. The same waitress was stood in the doorway and had no intention of letting me pass, what happened to social distancing. Anyway the one thing we are constantly asked to do is wash our hand or at least sanitise. The toilet had no toilet paper, no hand wash, no hand dryers working and no paper towel to dry my hands. My husband said it was the same in the mens. This was 14.30 on a Saturday afternoon! Really disappointing.

In a hurry for a quick lunch I decided to eat here today. I asked whether the mussels were good this time of the year and the waiter replied in the affirmative, asking me which flavour I would like. I ordered the moules 'creme a la moutarde'. The mussels were rather small - approx 2cm x 1cm per mussel - and the sauce had neither cream nor mustard, it was the basic 'nature' sauce although they still charged me €2.50 extra as if it were what I ordered. The only good thing were the frites. I won't be back.

The Falstaff is awful. It is overcrowded, the waiters can’t cope, tables aren’t cleared and there is no system. We really should have left when it took 20 minutes to take the order. The food is terrible. I ordered half a chicken which wasn’t cooked. I sent it back and the waiter asked if I wanted something sweet instead. Decided to cut our losses pay the bill and leave. No apology, nothing. Stay hungry rather than visit this place.

We went there to listen to the live music and enjoy the nice interior but disaster. We ordered drinks one panache, mint tea and a westmalle. The bill came and panache more expensive than the westmalle and different price than what s indicated on the menu. We pointed out the error made to the waiter thinking that wouldn't take lone and we will just get our change and go but Ahah no we stayed there some time. Because this little error easy to solve created a whole argument between the waiters. The waiter who took care of our drinks said it wasn't his fault that the menu was outdated and he didn't want to pay us back the difference. Then we complained to the other waiter and he started mumbling some non sense stuff like "it's normal that it s expensive because there are two drinks, beer and Sprite" but 33cl!!!!! So less than a glass of beer and not the whole can of Sprite!!! Then we made him understand and he was ELUCIDATED and he told his colleague to pay us the difference. Anyway we never wanted to argue about the ingredients of the drink, we should be paying WHAT IS INDICATED ON THE MENU!!!!! So his colleague started shouting and they started arguing in the middle of the bar. Everyone was staring at them. Then the one refusing to pay us went upstairs to the "BIG BOSS" and came back 5-10' later. He told us the boss didn't accept it and we said we would want to talk to him. He said no like some kind of "Irishman" mood. He started telling us we were write but of he had to pay us the difference has was going to have to pay it from his salary and he said he doesn't wanna do that. Then we left not to waste our time any longer and here an hour later I am writing this comment with the full story. I will never go back to that bar no matter how beautiful the stained glass windows are. The service is terrible, their organization (between colleagues) is terrible, everyone one working there seem desperate and unhappy so why would they wanna make the customer happy, they don't care. Attached photo showing the error on the menu. They said they will "update" the menu. These people should learn about consumer policy. The price shown must be the price charged at the checkout!!!! Hope you read this Falstaff!
