Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My second visit. The first trip was really crowded and I didn’t get to see much. This time, in an off-season Thursday night, I was the only visitor for part of the night. The place is a vintage “brown” bar, with oak pannelling and breweriana everywhere. The beer menu is extensive, with Lambic the speciality, but plenty of choice if you don't like sour beer. The food is very traditional, I went for some cheese which came with gherkins and mustard. The welcome was warm and I’d go back tomorrow. Also, it's across the road from the best friterie in Brussels (prepare to queue).

A La Becasse is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite taverns in Brussels and one of the great alleyway taverns found in this city .
It's a very cool tavern,housed in a beautiful building,the interior is superb ,a cute looking serving bar ,great decor and furnishings and lots of seating options ,mostly bench seating,there's also lots of seating options outside,it's just a great tavern to chill out in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a late afternoon ,we luckily managed to grab a table were we ordered bottles of Alken Maes Brewery beer,served iced cold and sparkling,we just kicked back and took in the great bar we were in.
My beer was good,a light,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink,it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a freezing cold beer.
We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
A La Becasse is easy to locate along Rue De Tabora.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,open from 11am.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

On any holiday I take to this most eclectic of city's I always make a point of visiting the four famous alley taverns ,they are Toone,A L'Imaige Nostre Dame ,Au Bon Vieux Temps and this most famous of taverns namely A La Becasse.
This is a wonderful tavern dating from the early 19th century, a big single roomed tavern, great decor and furnishings including a vintage looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this tavern,mostly bench style seating, it's just one great tavern.
On our five day holiday to Brussels we visited here two times such is the allure of this tavern, we enjoyed some great gueuze and kriek beers served in excellent condition, these are special beers especially the gueuze fruit beers ,these sour beers are excellent, the ones served in here are fabulous, I think there mostly brewed locally in the magnificent Cantillon Brewery in Anderlecht.
We really enjoyed our two visits here and the great beers served here ,served by staff who are genuinely pleased to see you in their tavern.
We really enjoyed our visits here and when we are back in Brussels next year we will most certainly revisit this tavern.
La Becasse is easy to locate on Rue De Tabora.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, 11am till Midnight.
A great tavern, well worth checking out if your in the area.

It is a bit scary to walk into this place as its down an alley way which has lots of twists and turns. But its worth going in!!

Its a warm small wooden lined bar with a good atmosphere. I asked the waitress what beer to try and she suggested the beer they brew specifically for this bar. It was well worth trying!!! it has a very different taste to your standard Belgium beer and was a good change to all the other Belgium beers i had tried. It comes in a nice looking ceramic cup as well.

Don't be scared to walk down the alley and try it out !!

We’ve been coming to this ‘down the ally’ pub for ages... and it’s undergone a metamorphosis. Gone is the quiet drink in the traditional surroundings... now the bar is packed and playing music.... it’s not an unpleasant change... but it’s certainly different from the traditional bar.

It's worth seeking out this bar, just off the Grand Place. The staff are friendly and helpful and the beer reasonably priced. It's a good place to try some Belgian beers. Very quaint.

We happened upon La Becasse when looking for somewhere to shelter from the snow!

None of the restaurants around The Grand Place would let us in for just a drink! You had to be having a meal.

Well, you know what, they did us a favour because we loved this place.

All kitted out in Tudor style wood and a log fire, it really looked the part.

It is warm and welcoming.

There are lots of types of ale on sale and the waiter will recommend one for you if you ask him.

We went for 10% alcohol content ales and a big plate of Gouda to go with them. We tried four ales in all and loved them all.

All served in their namesake glasses.

We went back the next day and a different waiter was on so we chose our own ales.

Very quiet but great for ale drinkers and I would highly recommend it if you are visiting the Grand Place as the prices are reasonable and it's a two minute walk away.

So glad we found La Becasse.
