- Allan K6 contributionsBest lambics in Brussels!Lambic and guese beers are the best and this is nirvana for lovers of such. The self guided tour is cool but the 3 tasters are even better. Full pours also available. You don't have to take the tour in order to visit the bar. Great stop before your train departs, not far from the station.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 27 September 2023

The beer is amazing and the tour was a nice chance to see how everything works. Enjoying the beers was the best part. I am sad I did not have enough time to get a bottle of Fou Fone in the bar, but the takeaway 3 pack was a great gift to go home with.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 April 2024

For a tiny brewery our tour was massively over-crowded/ over-booked. I counted at least 35 people in our group and throughout the tour we were packed into small spaces like sardines. Regardless of Covid, if I can feel someone’s breath on me they are standing too close. It was often hard to see/ hear the guide when we had to stand so far away from him. We lost interest in the tour due to the poor organisation. It’s a shame as we were really looking forward to it. The brewery could charge more for tickets but book half the people onto a tour and it would be a far more enjoyable experience.

Cantillon is a local family-owned brewery in Brussels. It is a great place to learn about the brewing of world-renowned Belgian beer. From the relatively small workshop, visitors can have first-hand encounter of how hops and barley are prepared, processed and fermented inside the wooden cask. There are also chances for visitors to sample three types of local brews. Very enjoyable time that should be added to any trip to the Belgian capital.

While traveling in Belgium, we wanted to visit a brewery with history + character over a touristy spot.
I was not well versed on authentic lambic beer and while I may not be the biggest fan, it was very informative and entertaining to learn about the history of lambic brewing.
The staff was friendly and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend visiting when in Brussels.

The top range Kriek was really good - surprisingly delicate sourness and complex cherry flavour. Same for the rhubarb. Everything else was decent without being notable apart from the Iris which was undrinkable. They’re ‘OG’ but there are far better modern sours now.
Also unfortunately let down by a rude server who misheard me and decided to angrily ‘correct me’ unnecessarily. He might benefit from a hearing aid.

When I landed in Brussels via train I went straight to Cantillon for a lunchtime beer with my friends. It is an absolutely perfect location for an afternoon beer.
You enter through the brewery doors- there is a reception where you can book a tour but we didn’t do this. The building is an active large brewery, really amazing.
The bar is upstairs and has a relaxed, quiet atmosphere. There are a couple of beers on tap but mostly by the bottle. We had a bottle of the gueuze and a bottle of the magic lambic. Seriously great beer. Most beer between 15-30€ for a 75cl bottle.

I recently visited Cantillon Brewery with high expectations. While the beer was decent and we had the opportunity to sample it at the bar, the overall experience was marred by the poor service. The bartender was unnecessarily rude and showed little interest in explaining the different beers to us. His attitude significantly detracted from what could have been an enjoyable visit. If customer service were improved, this place would be much more appealing.

The tour of Cantillon is hassle-free (you can just show up and easily buy a ticket for a self-guided tour) and very insightful into the world of lambic and gueuze brewing. The staff welcome you with a smile on their face. With the self-guided tour you are given a brief introduction to the brewery and the type of beer that is made there by one of the staff. You are also given two beer tastings at the end of the tour.

Short and sweet brewery tour and tasting. Chap on reception was very welcoming for our self guided tour. Unfortunately, the wrong time of year to see any brewing but that didn't spoil it. Its situated in a dodgy part of town but easy to find. Good value for 7 euros if you are over that way, not worth a journey out of town.

I'm thinking of taking a real beer lover here and having a drink in the bar. However, I don't love beer as much as he does. Does anyone know if they serve anything other than beer in the bar?

Hi, is cantillon dog friendly? Is there a possibility to take small dob in bag to tap room? We would like to have some good bottles but small pup can be an issue as it is also brewery from hygiene perspective. Thanks a lot in advance.

During our visit at Cantillon, I did not see any dogs in bags or otherwise. As you say, local regulations may prevent any animals entering the premises. If you want to be sure, why not call Cantillon directly?

Hello there,
They accept cash money. I'am not sure they have a pincode machine, but if you come from raiway station Brussels-Midi, you have several ATM's.
Enjoy your visit.

I’m coming here Monday 5 February 2018. I want to do a tour but can’t get tickets online. Are there tours on Mondays? Does it get crowded?
Written 22 January 2018
Tours in English are on Friday and Saturday only. You can do a self guided tour on Monday- just walk in
Written 22 January 2018
What is the easiest way to get to the brewery? We are coming to Brussels for the day and have tickets for a hop on hop off bus tour.
Written 30 October 2017
We walked - It is a bit off the beaten path. You could Uber or taxi though. If i remember correctly, there is a hop on hop off stop fairly near the brewery. Definitely worth the effort!

I am hoping to go to the public brewing day on 11 November. Does anyone know whether advance tickets are necessary as I can't see a ticket buying option on the website.
Thanks.
