The veggie meatloaf (I hope it was because it tasted good enough to be meat!) was a winner. Trappist beer is made by monks and it tastes divine. This place is cool pay it a visit.

A rainy free day in Brussels - went to the Cirque Royal - as this theatre is also known. Very melodic and fun matinee performance of Donizetti's "L'elisir d' Amore" - set in the round theatre . Full of school children who enjoyed all the fun added to the opera by setting it in modern times and by the sea... Blow ups, foam, swim suits and even a dog - all added to the sense of the contemporary nature of this opera.... Well done. The building outside is not one of Brussel's best - and Brussels has lovely buildings - but inside it is a big theatre but around the stage. Of course you will have to check what is on each time - but it is a theatre now on my list.…
