We have visited the museum several times since its opening. It is a well presented collection primarily covering the First World War but with a small section on the years leading up to and including the Second World War. Its greatest insights are about the...More

Alan was our guide, he was Belgian and concerned about his level of English - absolutely no need! His English was perfect and he gave us a fantastic tour. I have been round this museum on my own and then with Alan and I was...More

The museum covers the history of Mons from the middle age until 1945, with focus on WW1 & 2. Great visual maps that show the development of the two wars, and how it affected the Mons area and its inhabitants. Highly recommended!

Not just WW1 and WW2 here you see the full military history of Mons. The account of the soldiers during WW1 was particularly moving.

Recently, we visited the St. Symphorien cemetery but unfortunately didn’t have the time to go to the Memorial Museum. We were able to visit the museum this September. Our Sat-Nav was vital in getting us to and from the destination and the fairly anonymous facade...More

Learn about the first and last battles of WW1. The artefacts and displays of the German occupation are also well worth the stop. Modern and well planned with helpful staff, the museum explains the key points to the War of 1918. There are some real...More

Enjoyed the museum, really interesting to find out more about the impact of conflict on the Mons community. It was a tad chilly and I would agree with previous posts about taking a jumper!
