A must when passing through Belgium. Gent is one of the most unknown pearls of Belgium situated along a crossing of two rivers. The whole inner city is a combination of mediaval buildings, cathedrals, belfry, coble stones and some more recent but still old architecture. It is a pleasure to stroll around in this city and choose a terrace in... More

Visiting Ghent was like taking a step back in time. From old hill top castles to beautiful canal waterways and dominating cathedrals, this beautiful city is worth the visit. You will need about a day to get around and truly appreciate everything there is to offer.

Visited a few times as family are living here. Never ceases to amaze. The history and buildings are simply stunning. It is like being a time traveller and they could make fantastic film sets here. Every where is a photo opportunity. You could spend several days just walking about taking in the old historical buildings, coffee and chocolate shops and... More

Walking over the St. Michaels Bridge will literally take your breath away. So many charming side streets to get lost in. I love Ghent!

Friendly, lovely, easy to get around. Many restaurants that serve great food. Try the beer bar that offers over 200 varieties (but no food).

Gent is one of the nicest cities in Belgium. Best to visit in spring or summer, but also perfect to spend the weekend in one of many bars and have a nice beer. Many houses in the city centre are renovated and the streets are clean. Very pleasant to stroll around.

This city is less famous than Brugge, but I prefer and recommend Ghent. Ghent is bigger and has much more to offer. Different type of squares, great shops, chocolate bars, medieval buildings, theaters, bars with ourside terraces, etc, etc.
