This is a much calmer area of Bruges. It's really quaint and it's nice to walk along the canals. Worth a little visit.

If you want a few minutes without the crowds of other tourists this pretty and peaceful place is the perfect spot. Nothing really happens here, but sometimes it’s nice just to enjoy the atmosphere and the fine old buildings. Respect the signs: SILENCE!

We enjoyed walking through the Begijnhof after a day in Ghent. Brugge is best enjoyed before 10am and after 5pm.

Interesting history, average architecture. In ancient times, women built this safe haven for themselves.

This is a peaceful spot yet so beautiful and gorgeous. I went from within another tour and came away very satisfied. This is a great respite from the city center Markt.

This is a part of Bruges you must visit because it shows you the life of these nuns during 17th century living in this area and managing partly the hospital.

Amsterdam, Brussels and Ghent all have their own Beginhof but this one is the best by far. Perhaps it's because the Bruges Beginhof still is operated as a spiritual retreat. You are asked to show respect and keep your voices down as you wander through...More

Nice row of houses but quite overcrowded by tourists. We loved the lake in front, probably called Lake of love and the setting of some of the beguinhof buildings around it & the flock of white swans made it look very picturesque. It’s a 5...More
