Tickets to this museum also provide entry to the arthuis so definitely decent value. There was a temporary exhibit relating to art and law which was thoroughly enjoyable, however the permanent exhibit, while excellent, was not "out of this world" good. Definitely worth a visit however.

This museum is small and well laid out. It has a small shop at the entrance and the surrounding grounds are lovely. Our visit was somewhat spoiled when a very officious little male curator began to berate an elderly couple when the man accidentally touched the glass in front of a painting. He was so rude and it was completely... More

The entrance fee to this Art Gallery is €8 for each adult. Because of recent issues in Belgium, all bags, including handbags, must be left in a locker. There is an extensive Flemish art collection from primitives up to the modern era. When we visited there was also a large exhibition with the theme of "Justice". We found it to... More

The museum is good - not that big - not that hard to walk thru. However, I cannot say that it was my favorite type of art. The sculptures on the outside (around the gardens) were quite good. Your ticket should also get you into the Arentshuis.

Art lovers should make a stop here. Be sure to take in the museum’s excellent collection of Flemish Primitive paintings. You get a chance to see them up close including works by the justly famous Jan van Eyck.

I look forward to visiting again once the renovations are complete. It would have been a good idea to have the information about construction available on the museum website.

This was my first introduction to Flemish art focussing on its primitive and renaissance content and was inspiring. Famous works by Jan Van Eyck are exhibited here as well as others new to me. A temporary exhibition 'The Art of Law' depicting three centuries of justice was also fascinating. It's full of really wonderful material - paintings, sculpture, glass, drawings,... More

For the collection I'd give 5 stars. The primitives are breathtaking. Slightly oddly curated with the permanent collection 'crossed' by an exhibition, but a minor issue. The loss of 3 stars is due to staff so rude that I actually wept. There is a rule apparently that you must stand at least 3 feet from the paintings - all of... More

The main attraction, the Hieronymus Bosch, was not on display and this was not clear in entry. Staff were generally aloof. No additional information for any of the pictures along side them.

Absolutely fantastic collection of Flemish and Belgium painters. From Van der Eyeck to Marcel Broodthaers. From Flemish primitives to Renaissance and Baroque Masters.
