    Amazing and Creepy!
Peculiar place inspired by E.A. Poe. The host, Mr Retsin is welcoming his guests and is giving recommendations about what to see. At the end, you get a cocktail, on the house. Smoking area exists inside. Amazing place! A must see in Bruges, especially if you’re into weird and creepy.

    Frightening
I heard about this place on Atlas Obscura but I was not prepared for the insane, one of a kind experience this place offered. I did get the sense that I visited on a sort of off-season for the bar. I think this place would be a very different experience with a larger crowd but I don't think it would be any worse. Absolutely the best thing I experienced in Bruges. Don't come for the chocolate or the waffles or the Belfry or the canal, come for the lucifernum.

Best thing in Bruges that isn’t a tower or a chocolate shop
THE hidden gem of Bruges. We enter and ring the bell and we’re immediately greeted by the eccentric kind host, who I believe is the owner. He gave us a dramatic entry before letting us loose to explore a house filled to the brim with odd and eerie decor. Every room was its own adventure. No actors, no audio, just ambient music and this incredible house. At the end we were escorted to a garden that I can only describe as Poison Ivys lair by a very nice woman who offered us cocktails (the cocktail is included in the price of €15). I had the best mojito of my life here! Well worth the price! It’s cheap, weird, the staff are friendly, and it’s something that anyone who loves the eccentric, the spooky, and the delightfully absurd should make it a point to do!! Just one tip: bring cash, the card reader gave us trouble because the house seems to reject digital technology 😅

    Weird, interesting and quirky
This is a very strange but interesting visit. Lots of macabre artwork, well lit and striking. Some exhibits are of their time and would not be acceptable nowadays. €5 to gain entry to wander around this very bizarre place (best to go with a friend as quite creepy). Delicious cocktails €15 each. Was once a magnificent house. For €5 a must visit.

This place is worth a stop. Our guide, Rafael, was very knowledgeable. The atmosphere here is open and comfortable and interesting. We had a really great time looking at the art and conversing at the bar

Multilingual and welcoming to all that come, you get a drink and free roam of the home with a 15 euro admission. The bartender won’t skimp on the alcohol

I visited the house after a quick Google check of weird bars in Bruges, it did not disappoint! The place is properly mental, the crazy owner answered the door whilst laughing manically. It's decorated wonderfully and it's super creepy. Bart who was working on the bar was really interesting and told us all about the owner.

A really fun way to spend a couple of hours.

If you love the kitschy or off beat, this place totally delivers. Owner, Monsieur Retsin, greats you at the door. His wife, who is extremely hospitable, makes exemplary cocktails.

We knew we would love this bizarre, quirky home with a fantastic cocktail. What we weren't expecting was that your 15 euros not only gets you one of the best drinks but allows you time to wander around amazing artwork. The vampire himself is an incredible artist and we loved looking at his artwork! If you love all things vampires then you will really appreciate the art. That side of things was a real surprise.
What an amazing couple with an amazing home - so pleased we were in Bruges for when it opened. (At the moment it's open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 2-7pm.)
