A must see if you're visiting Ypres for the Menin Gate, but don't have the time to get to Tyne Cot. Gives an excellent insight into the typical style/layout of British & Commonwealth War Graves.

It seems a little odd to describe a cemetery as Very Good. Presumably if one finds themselves at the Menin Gate one expects a certain type of experience, so in addition to the Menin Gate, this is well worth the 1km walk along the ramparts. Its only small, but wonderfully preserved and in a fantastic location on the edge of... More

Visited this place whilst still in secondary school, I didn't realise how moving it was until many years later. I would love to visit again now I am older.

This little cemetery is is a beautiful location in a park overlooking the moat. Containing the remains of men from as far away as New Zealand. It is interesting to link the dates with major actions.

All the cemeteries around Ypres are tragic reminders of the monumental loss of young lives in hideous wars. The Belgium government and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintain and improve the cemeteries and the facilities with great care and are to be applauded.

A small cemetery. One day of many in the area that make you realise the sacrifice of many so we have the lives we do today.

Walk along the ramparts past the Indian & Nepal memorials, you you find this cemetery tucked away on the corner of the moet. Beautiful spot.

Like all the Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites this one is very moving. It can be reached by a pleasant short walk from the Menin Gate along the old city wall overlooking the river and is just past the Lille Gate. It overlooks the river, is very peaceful, well kept as you would expect and so, so quite - a... More

Most graveyards can be moving but the somber silence of all who visit and pay homage is justified and dignified.

The Ramparts cemetery next to the Lille Gate in Ieper is a calm and peaceful spot just outside the town centre. It is one of the original WW1 cemeteries & as such the headstones are dotted around rather than in neat rows. Like so much of Ieper it is impossible to imagine what it must have been like 100 years... More
