You'll need good shoes and good legs to get up the bell tower, but once you are there, the views are spectacular. It's worth being inside the belfry, under the bells when they toll.

My wife and I both in our 70's but extremely fit managed the steps easily and even passed some rather plump youngsters who had to stop to rest. Ah our generation is made of stern stuff!!!!!!Great views are normally seen from the top but unfortunately...More

We ventured up on a very winding, narrow stepped staircase. The view was worth the trembling knees. Just make sure you go between the bell chimes on the hour and half hour. Fingers in ears if you get caught.

This is an additional fee, €2 and 261 steps to the top, but the views are well worth it. You can walk all the way around and get a 360° of the city and surrounding countryside. There are signs to show what you are looking...More

The climb up to the belfy is not too difficult.Be mindful when you get up there, when the bells toll they are extremely loud but are amazing. You can walk up high and go outside for the best view over Ypres.Well worth the climb for both

The best view of Ypres ,but beware if you don't like heights. Puts the whole Battle field experience into context, with the added bonus of seeing a Town beautifully restored and cared for. Worth the climb, but not ideal for those with significant health issues

An interesting visit to the top of the Cloth Hall Belfry. It's a bit of a climb but well worth it for the views.

When visiting the Flinders museum we chose to purchase an extra ticket to get to the top of the tower. This included getting up close and personal with the bells, thankfully the were not rung when we were so close. If you don't mind the...More
