This walking holiday is really lovely. The cliff top walks are stunning. In the spring the flowers and butterflies can be enjoyed all along the route. As mentioned in a review of Oct 12th 2014, I too booked the holiday with Ricardo of Vincentina Travel. He was very helpful and efficient and I highly recommend that you cut out the... More

This trail is amazing! You can hike from village to village and grab a cafe or some seafood then continue on your way to the next town. When you get tired there are taxi numbers posted to call for a ride. We stopped at a restaurant for local wine and they called a taxi for us. We spent one day... More

I did this hike in mid October 2014. We were a group of three guys in our upper 20's. We hiked for three days on the Fisherman's Trail section starting in Vila Nova de Milfontes and ending in Odeceixe. It was an amazing three days. The hiking itself is not challenging, its more a walk along the cliffs on the... More

If you're in southern Portugal "You Must Do This Hike". My wife and I did the combo loop from the lighthouse "Farol do Cabo de São Vicente" down the road back then inland and north to where the Traditional route joins the Fisherman's Way and then hiked along the coast southward back to the lighthouse. AMAZING views you won't soon... More

My mother and I hiked the Rota Vicentina with Portugal Nature Trails. They are a wonderful company and make you feel totally taken care of. Not only were our hikes in Alentejo breathtaking, we enjoyed nice accommodations...especially Casas de Moinho in Odeceixe. All the restaurant recommendations were exceptional and Portugal Nature trails were very responsive, flexible, and gracious in meeting... More

So in early may 2015.. I set off along the rota vicentina.. Unlike many I did it back to front... this worked out really well for me as the predominant wind direction blew my hair back instead of into my face, also the with the last stretch being the hardest I felt that was sensible Fantastic walk. We did 20... More

Just returned from six great days hiking the Rota . Did the complete traditional rout to Cape St Vincent from Santiago. Found the rout to be excellently marked with little chance of missing a turn. I actually had the rout on GPS but deliberately did not use it in order to see if the markings were good. Just a word... More

We hiked the Rota Vicentina trail from Vila Nova de Milfontes to Odeceixe in late May 2014. It was absolutely incredible! My favourite part was from Zambujiera to Odeceixe. Stunning. Here are a few tips about food and transport. Water: We carried about 1.5-2L's of water per person and were often able to fill up our bottles on the longer... More

We did the Fisherman's trail from Porto Covo to Arrifana beach organised efficiently by Vincentina Travel who carried our luggage while we walked, arranged our accommodation, and suggested places for us to eat. We really enjoyed the experience, though be aware that the first day is hard in the heat and walking in soft sand. The flowers and views were... More
