Go early to avoid the tour bus groups. It is a small chapel and can get crowded. Read the poems written and displayed around the chapel for the full effect.

Interesting to visit but not a very artistic use of the remains. Just stuck on the walls in rows. The only bit of Design was around the doorway. Still, if you are in Evora you might as well visit it as you can check out...More

Interesting place to visit, except the exhibition of the nativity scenes which is a waste of time. Also the cathedral is nice to visit but a bit the same as every church ...

I was not impressed, but it is a must see in Évora. I was more impressed with the inscription in the entrance of the Chapel.

You can’t come to Evora and not some here. Take a few minutes to check it out, snap some photos to share with friends at home.

a must if you stop in Evora - just the coolest / freakiest thing to see. So many bones. A bit somber but such a cool thing to visit. Really enjoyed it.

Included with the 3€ for Sara and 4€ adult ticket was the Chapel of bones and the restored church along with the “If” in my title. The chapel of bones was interesting but not overwhelming as it does not come close to Catacombs in Paris....More

The Capela dos Ossos itself is interesting but doesn’t compare to the catacombs in Paris, however, the restored church tour and religious artifacts are worth one’s time. Of particular interest was the several hundred depictions of the nativity scene that a private collector (family from...More

The walls and pillars and ceilings of this small chapel, part of the bigger church, are decorated with wall-to-wall genuine human bones! As far as I am aware, it is unique. the idea is to convey the message that "Your Bones Will Be Here One...More

Tickets are sold at the door. It is a small town with cute shops and restaurants. Go off the main plaza and you will find good food. Look for the remains of the Roman Aqueduct as well.
