We did the 7 day Castles and wine tour with Paulo as our trusty bike guide. We could not have asked for a better trip. The entire team go out of their way to ensure your tour runs smoothly and will tailor the trip based on your preferences. Our expectations were exceeded with the quality of restaurants and attention to detail. You will feel genuinely welcomed to Portugal by the staff who provide an authentic experience visiting off-the-beaten-path sites and chatting with the locals. We did the fully guided trip and Manuel welcomed us each day with lunch in interesting spots, by a lake, in an Olive grove or sourced out the best little cafes for lunch. We arrived at our hotels with our bags already in the room and all we had to do was jump in the pool to cool off. We felt spoiled and would go again in a heart beat.

Portugal Best Cycling (Turaventur) took us on a fabulous tour through Portugal's Alentejo and Algarve regions (we did a customized bike/hike/kayak tour for 10 days for a group of 11). We had many experiences that we wouldn't have found on our own, from visiting a cactus farm, to visiting a cork factory, to finding beautiful locations for tasty picnics, to visiting Teresa's family farm where we had a barbecue and saw a newborn donkey and an amazing collection of mint condition antique cars. Teresa has an incredible "joie de vivre" that is infectious, and she knows her way around out-of-the-way bike routes. She also has a talent for choosing the perfect hotels and restaurants (great locations, reasonable prices). Joana brought us all of those tasty picnics, became everyone's friend, and drove the support van. We would highly recommend this group for anyone who wants an active travel experience in Portugal.

I did a 6-day solo self-guided cycling tour from Sessimbra to Aldeia da Pedralva with the assistance of Portugal Best Cycling. The routes were amazing, alternating from challenging on the first day to some easier ones later on. I highly recommend PBC who take great care in preparing the routes, providing assistance when needed (due to unusual bad weather!) and in general looking after you during the entire trip. The bikes provided by PBC are of high quality and well suited to the variety of small roads ans tracks. Some of the views were breathtaking, and the itinerary goes through unspoiled areas that are worth discovering! You can also enjoy amazing local food at the various stops. I am definitely planning to do another tour with PBC, most likely with family. Lastly, PBC was very flexible in changing some of the usual itinerary to suit my own needs and gave me invaluable advice in adapting some of the routes.

We took the self-guided PBC "Along the Coast" tour in May/June-a party of three.This is our 3rd tour with PBC and we recommend them highly.In particular: the routes, often on backroads, through rice fields, along cliff tops, and quiet country roads (gravel/tarmac); the quality of the bikes; support (via Whatsapp); friendliness; selection of accommodation; cultural/culinary recs; and obvious love for this amazing country.The route was varied. Day 1 out of Sesimbra was hilly.Following days were easier on the coast/inland to S. Cacem,then down to the coastal towns of Porto Covo, Villa Nova de Milfontes, Odeciexe. The planned kms were all doable.We requested additional rest days to enjoy exploring the towns/beaches, which PBC were happy to accomodate.The seafood meals along the coast were superb and the beach/pool swims welcome.Everyone we met was so friendly/patient with our little bit of Portuguese! A terrific way to see the countryside - slow travel.Thankyou PBC for such a great tour.

This is the second time we have been cycling with Best Portugal Cycling – for a reason. Last time we did the Castles and wine tour, this time Northen Alentejo. The tour was wonderful with mostly quiet roads, rolling landscapes and happy cows, sheep, goats, cats, storks and spring flowers greeting us on our way. We had e-bikes which was a good thing the days we climbed up to hilltops with small, beautiful villages overlooking the landscapes. The hotels were all nice and welcoming to cyclists. But most of all the follow-up from Best Portugal Cycling was excellent. From meeting us at the airport to daily check-ins on Whatsapp we felt they were close and at hand for any questions or issues that could arise along the way. We really love the people, landscape, food, wine and most everything with Portugal and Best Portugal Cycling are the perfect hosts. Highly recommend, the team, the tour, the country.

A wonderful trip from start to finish. Our guides, Mario and Joanna, were fabulous. The countryside is lovely and the Portuguese are incredibly friendly. We especially enjoyed the accommodations at the pousadas.

We had a lovely cycling week. The eco-trail (old railway trail) was hard dirt with soft spots but we loved the challenge. We also did some road cycling on serene country roads. We had a guided day with Daniel who was amazing: Thoughtful, articulate and engaging, He took us to Mont Serrat castle a good climb on our bikes. We visited the cork factory, pottery places, megalithic monument. The sites were breathtaking. Beautiful flowering almond trees were everywhere.
We loved our stay on the farm, Annabella greeted us each morning with a delicious farm breakfast, always ready with coffee. She was a delight.
Theresa and her team at the farm with professional, kind, generous, and always giving us great tips and helping us out when needed.
We enjoyed the vintage cars and the company of Pedro.
I would highly recommend this cycling trip !! Unique and exciting.

We had a great week, perfect weather and loved the farm! The cycling was beautiful, just a little more challenging than we anticipated. The dirt roads were sometimes soft and rutted, making them difficult to navigate. However, these roads were often through some of the most spectacular scenery (almond orchards in full bloom, ancient megalith sites, cork trees etc.). Our guide/driver Daniel was super charming, knowledgeable, accommodated our different needs, spoke perfect English and laughed at our Canadian jokes. Theresa and her team were incredibly warm and welcoming, we felt like old friends at the end of the week. The food was delicious and farm fresh and accommodations were very authentic. I would recommend the cooking class with Dena (FUN!) I would also recommend taking a cab (and getting staff to help arranging) into Evora the evenings when dinners are not provided as there is not much available at the farm. Evora is a beautiful town in the evenings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long holiday cycling around the Evora area. This guided cycle tour included riding in lovely scenery, learning about the culture and history of the Alentejo area and visiting historic monuments, churches and cathedrals. Our guides Teresa and Paulo were knowledgeable and personable. The bikes although not high specification hybrids withstood the non-technical off road conditions and cobble stone roads. We recommend that you bring pedal cages if you have/are used to them. We did this tour in July and knew conditions were going to be hot. Our guides were responsive and made lots of water stops. We recommend that any heat sensitive travellers book in cooler months or take the self guided option and start each day at 0700hrs aiming to finish by 1230hrs. Overall the company is focused on the client and although not cheap the price for the tour is fair for the quality of the accommodation, time invested to address client needs and logistics. The owner and the office staff provided other assistance such as transfer bookings which was very helpful. Overall a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Thank you Teresa and team.

This was a mountain bike experience we did not expect as rated beginner to intermediate-nothing beginner about it. Fitting all the bikes at the start was aproblem as did not go to bike shop and one bike was the wrong size. Local company Megasport did respond promtly. No paper maps were provided and it we had not had a tech. expert with us, we could never have found the way.
However the hotels were good with excellant breakfasts. The beaches along the coast are beautiful to walk-they are surfing beaches so swimming not an option.

Como funciona o serviço, apenas alugam bicicletas ou existe algum tipo de roteiro (se sim, quais para 1 dia)? Gostaria de conhecer a região e comer num excelente restaurante (comida portuguesa e/ou mediterrânea). Consigo fazer isso de bicicleta?
