About
It is now thirteen years since the safest and most sheltered marina in the country opened its waters to boat owners, in the city of Albufeira. This marina is part of a high-quality tourist complex which includes in its development hotels, restaurants, bars, a nautical club, shops, swimming-pools, apartments, villas and a recreational and leisure centre. The most sophisticated support services are available to all sailors and their boats, in addition to a permanent, friendly and highly professional service. Marina de Albufeira enjoys an ideal geographical location, in the Algarve, right at the end of the motorway from Lisbon and 40 kilometres from Faro airport, providing all the necessary conditions to keep even the most demanding seafarers happy. The environmental impact of the marina was one of our top priorities right from the beginning, so we are very pleased to inform you that the Environment Management Systems of the Marina de Albufeira are certified, since 2008, under ISO 14001. On this matter, in 2016 the marina, was once again awarded with the European Blue Flag and has been distinguished with the 5 Gold Anchors Award of The Yacht Harbour Association and British Marine Federation and it was considered the Runner Up Internacional Marina of the year 2015. We eagerly await your visit, certain that the conditions you will find here in Marina de Albufeira will provide you with a rewarding experience that you will want to repeat, year after year.

- OdindogManchester, United Kingdom245 contributionsNice to spend a few hours chilling.Took the tourist train from the old town. Found a nice friendly bar, just relaxed in the sun and people watched. Booked a dolphin and caves tour did a little browsing in the shops and finished with a coffee and cake before returning to the old town on the tourist train. An idyllic day 😎Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 October 2023
- AMGalway, Ireland17 contributionsPerfect beaches!Fabulous weather, stunning coastline, quiet, secluded beaches. ⛱️ lovely people. Some beach access points need good footwear, up and down over rocky dunes, but worth it! Not difficult, just watch your footing 👌Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 April 2024
- TravelMum50Doncaster, United Kingdom164 contributionsBeautiful scenery. Well worth a visit! What a beautiful place. We came here for breakfast and had a beautiful walk around the Marina. The buildings are very vibrant and the boats are too. It has a lively chilled vibe. I can imagine that it’s beautiful at night with the lights but it will probably be a different vibe. The bars have signs for cheap alcohol and football matches are shown in some of the bars.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 May 2024
- Proff_SteveLondon, United Kingdom229 contributionsA lovely time at the marinaWe visited the marina in low season so we were not sure what to expect. The weather was great, sunny, it was easy to find a place to sit and eat or drink, we sat harbour side taking advantage of their happy hour cocktails which were 2 for 1, we sank 4! I remember there was an Arsenal premier league game on that night so we moved under cover where it was warm. The cocktails were good the service was ok too. In summary the marina offers many dining & drinking options, an Irish Bar for those who miss home, several sports bars with screens for customers. A few child friendly places too and several places offering trips by boat to see local sites.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 May 2024
- Chris BKidderminster, United Kingdom267 contributionsFamily Friendly FunWe visited the area for two weeks in August with a large family group and visited the marina most days. I utilised the excellent gym, we ate at a variety of restaurants, used the children’s entertainment venues, went for drinks both in the afternoon and evening and went on a boat trip. It was ideal for our toddler as we could walk her up and down the marina on her reigns which is not possible in the old town due to the amount of people and level of drunkenness. This was minor an issue here. There are lifts so you can take the pushchair or a wheelchair down if needed. Will definitely visit again.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 August 2024

We walked from the Old Town to the Marina - fine for us with the kids, but a 30 min slow walk in the heat over hills make it tough for less mobile people. You can take a tuk-tuk if you need to. Marina was nice, with plenty of places to eat and drink and watch the world go by. Lots of excursions from here and some amusements for the kids. We found a great place for lunch (Pica Na Brasa) - would recommend a short visit.

Expected a peaceful marina & unfortunately found as one reviewer stated a little British colony with some boats. Constantly pestered by staff trying to get your custom while walking by a huge Irish bar full of lads on tour, 1970’s type amusements for the kids it’s just missing the kids me quick hats. Don’t get me wrong the food in general is okay & reasonable prices but my god some staff need to calm down. The lad from Sharky’s for example sounded like a disingenuous version of a Del Boy Dick Van Dyke hybrid gives of the feel of one of the Costa’s. Leave the Marina and walk 500m to the tranquil steak restaurant to escape the mediocre

The marina area has lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.
It’s lively without being anywhere like the strip, and is largely families and couples.
It’s very clean and a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours.

We love the marina, so much so we decided to hire an appointment on the marina above the bars. Really pretty views and a lovely stream of tourists passing by enjoying the bars and restaurants. It doesn't get loud or daft like so areas. Its extremely well kept and very clean. Theres some great amusements and rides for the little ones starting from €1. Some really lovely places to eat and drink with really friendly staff

We rented an Air BNB with balconies overlooking the Marina, it was a wonderful place to be. The views in the daytime were only eclipsed by the views at night where it was all lit up.
We walked from one end to another restaurants below us and the circuit of the entire harbour which even has a small hidden beach.
It was so lovely watching the coming and going below

small marina out of the main town. We got a tuk tuk for ten euros into the main town. There is also the kiddy/tourist train , which is a little cheaper. Marina is small with a few shops, but not a fish harbour.
Enjoyed a few drinks with friends.

Has anyone stayed in the colourful villas on the marina? We had a look but the ones at the back looked a bit shabby!
Written 4 October 2019
Yes we did, they are very big. We stayed in a two bedroom/ three bathroom which could sleep up to 7 with the sofa bed. Lots of space, full kitchen with all appliances. Would recommend.

Bonjour. Concernant le stationnement à la marina d'albufeira. Est-ce qu'il y a beaucoup de places en temps normal? Je désire réserver une excursion le 2 septembre prochain partant de la marina.

We were wandering through the old town and came across it, just head for the sea and normally turn to your right when you see the sea :)
