Boat trips by sea in easy boarding modern small boats, visiting breathtaking unique Benagil coastline caves, from Carvoeiro, through Benagil up to Praia da Marinha, considered most beautiful beaches in Europe. Only smaller boats can explore the caves at will - the larger boats are too big to enter the caves. Carvoeiro Caves has a fleet of 4 small, modern boats that zip along the coast and can easily be manoeuvered in the caves. All the boats have an easy boarding system making them accessible to the mobility impaired - no wading through waist-high water before clambering aboard. And all boats are equipped with all safety gear as required by law

This was so much fun. The driver and the guide were both fantastic. There was another couple on the tour who had done a tour with a different boat company and were not happy with it. So they added this tour to their agenda and told us that we had picked the right one. It was so much better than the other company they had gone with a couple of days prior. So glad we found this tour...would do it again!

We took this tour at 10:30 on 23 November. We were staying in Carvoeiro and the starting location was on the beach, a short walk from our accommodations. There were only nine on the boat and we explored various caves along the coast, including Benagil. It was a clear sunny day and the scenery was spectacular. Our skipper was Gonçalo who navigated through the caves in expert fashion, even in choppy and rolling seas. Our guide was Tiago who was friendly, informative and answered all our questions. At Benagil, we were the only boat inside the cave so we could enjoy it at our leisure with Tiago taking pictures of our group. All in all a very enjoyable experience and we would recommend this company and this tour for your visit.

We were so fortunate to have Bruno and Luis as our guides. They were thorough, engaging, entertaining, skillful, energetic, fun loving, experienced and adventurous. Love it!! So much fun!!! And scenic, of course. Bruno pulled into almost every cave. Very skilled at handling the boat. BIG thank you to the beach crew for handling the boat at launch and return.

Daniel and Alex were an incredible team. We visited many caves, including the most famous BENAGIL cave. The explanations were thorough and we knew that they both enjoyed what they did. It was well organized, on time, safe and well worth the very reasonable cost. 5/5

Impromptu, on Oct 5, 2023, we took a Bolt car from Lagos to Carvoeiro Beach to go to the Benagil Caves.
Arriving at 11am, we did not make any pre-booking and were not sure if we could see the Cave given the recent boat accident with no fatalities.
At Carvoeiro Beach, we saw two booths selling tickets. We spoke to one of them and he told us the only available slot was 4:30pm “take it or leave it”. Because of his obnoxiousness, we went over to Carvoeiro Caves (next to it) to enquire. We were thankful that 2 elderly ladies before us decided not to take the remaining 2:30pm slot. And just like that, we secure the chance to visit the Benagil Caves. We got more than that… the coastal line with all the caves is spectacular.
Of course the most spectacular of all is this Benagil Cave. Just when I thought I have exhausted all my bucket list! You marvel at how Mother Nature, through erosion carved this beautiful cave with an “eye” over millions of years.
I am so thankful for the good weather and the chance to view this piece of artwork that no human being could create.
I even got more than what I bargained for. The coastline of the Algarve was spectacular. The 1.5 hour tour covered more caves and grottos than I could ever imagined. Our guides are skilful (the sea was rather choppy that day) and funny.
I highly recommend Carvoeiro Caves. Here’s some preparation you can make ahead of time : Wear slippers or waterproof shoes because u need to board the board from the beach.
Otherwise, you’d need to leave your shoes behind… which we did, and it was thankfully not stolen.

Really good fun! Wasn’t the best weather and sea a bit choppy, which added to the experience as boat hit the waves at speed. Saw a number of caves and beaches and the guys talk you through each one, would do it again😀

The boat ride into the caves was excellent. Just enough adventure. The captain Pedro was very good at running the boat and his assistant Diego was fun and informative. I would recommend this size of boat for seeing the caves.

Took this boat trip with my son.
excellent guide and well worth the money.
You have to board the boat by walking into the sea and the boat is buffeted by the waves which may make it difficult for some but added to the experience.
Beautiful trip down the coast exploring the caves and local history.

Guten Tag, es ist nicht unmoeglich aber schwierig. Falls Sie es auf jeden Fall machen moechten am besten emprego em wir die erste Abfahrt vom Strand um 09h00. Wir sind Ihnen gerne bei den zwei Stufen auf und runtersteigen behilflich. Im Boot selber koennen Sie das Bein gestreckt lassen. Nur bei keinem Wellengang wenn das Meer glatt ist.

No, you're not allowed to get off this particular boat at the Banagil cave. But it does go right into the cave and there are plenty of photo opportunities there.

Good evening, we have the following options: (Prices are per person).
1 hour until the famous cave of Benagil (hole in the roof) for EUR 25 or a trip including this one and going a little further for
1 hour and 30 minutes until the beautiful beach caves of Praia da Marinha for EUR 30
Babies up to two years inclusive count as one passenger but travel free of charge.
Children aged between 3 and 10 inclusive pay EUR 15 on the tour to Benagil and EUR 20 on the tour to BENAGIL & MARINHA
Private tours available from 250 EUR onwards, during which you are allowed to swim, enjoying clear bleu waters and the faboulous environment.
All are modern and confortable small 6m boats, taking a maximum of 11 passengers, all have an easy boarding system. All our boats are suitable to visit all the caves deep inside, and as longer the trip is, as more caves you see.

On the power boat tours there is no access to the beach. We did see kayak groups landing on the beach inside the cave but i don’t think the view of the cave or the photo opportunities are significantly better from the beach. While it is theoretically possible to swim to the cave keep in mind that the water along the Algarve coast is quite chilly and most people do not choose to stay in the water long enough to make it to the cave.

Un grand merci pour votre demande. Ces jours nous travaillons de lundi a dimanche de 10h30 jusqu'à 18h30 et le meilleur moment est le matin car le soleil est pas si grave et la mer est généralement calme. Les bateaux partent toutes les demi-heures environ. Vous pouvez réserver directement sur notre site. Quand il n'y a pas d'horaire disponible, c'est parce que la mer n'est pas bonne ou que nous sommes déjà complets.

Hallo Helga, auch im Januar finden die Touren statt, wie Herr Tilo schon sagte, abhängig vom Meer und Wetter. Jedoch sind die Touren, jeweils von 10h30 bis circa 15h00-15h15. Die Strecke ist die gleiche und wir gehen in so viele Grotten rein wie möglich. Wir hoffen Sie zu dem Zeitpunkt willkommen zu heissen. Vielen Dank

So many of our guests consider mornings the very best time, others take the greatest pictures at lunch time (light inside most of the caves with open roof) and many consider the gold colour produced by the late evening sun on the cliffs a "must do".
We look forward to showing you the caves !

Dear Marika
Due to safety purposes, we only organise boat trips to the caves and do not rent kayaks or any other than boats.
I'm afraid to rent that kayak you have to come down to the beach and rent it directly here in the middle of the beach.
