The old town is a great place for wandering around: charming narrow streets lead between a number of churches and other public buildings.

It’s small but interesting town, Faro. The old town has a small museum inside worth visiting. There’s an entrance fee but it’s only around 2 euros. Just outside the main gate there’s also Portuguese guitar recital which is worth visiting. The entrance fee for the...More

I walked along the coastline to eventually see the old town. Nice to view the history and culture. It doesn't take long to see most of it, as it's a small place. Shame to see a bit of rubbish and graffiti.

Nice place to stay and explore the Algarve, not a lot to see in the old town, one day would be enough. Took the train to Lagos and to the Spanish border for a €2 ferry crossing.

Definitely, when you include the surroundings and nice villages in the area. The beaches are beatiful when you take the coast route. So sightseeing, walks along the beach and the food is delicious.
